Shooting Investigation


On September 29, 2018, at approximately 10:50 p.m., deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 45000 block of Sunflower Street in Great Mills, for the report of an individual who had been shot. Contact was made with the victim, an 18 year old male, who had sustained a gunshot wound to his thigh.  The victim advised he was walking in the area of Millison Plaza, located in Lexington Park, when a vehicle approached and fired a round in his direction.  The victim was able to leave the scene on foot, and was transported to an area hospital where he is in stable condition.  The Criminal Investigations Division responded and is continuing the investigation.

Through the Crime Solvers Program tipsters are eligible for an award of up to $1,000 for information about a crime in St. Mary’s County that leads to an arrest or indictment.
