The Citizens Academy group graduates the eight-week course on Oct. 11, 2018.
With a capacity of 230 beds, the detention center holds those awaiting trial and those sentenced up to 18 months for crimes.
A $25.9 million budgeted expansion project includes a new 64-bed wing, a new medical unit and extensive renovations. Bids are currently out for the project.
