On View Arrests/Warrants/Criminal Citation

On View Arrests:

Drug Arrest- On June 13, 2022, DFC. Raley arrested David Richard Speakman, age 28 of Leonardtown, on outstanding warrants for his arrest for Failure to Appear/Escape, Assault and Resisting Arrest. Upon arrival at the detention center, suspected Suboxone strips were located in the sole of Speakman's shoe. Speakman was charged with CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana and Introduce Contraband at Detention Center.

Drug Arrest- On June 14, 2022, DFC. Westphal conducted a traffic stop in the 21600 block of Great Mills Road in Lexington Park, and identified the operator of the vehicle to be Joseph Tyler William Brooks, age 25 of Lexington Park. A K-9 scan was conducted and the K-9 altered to possible CDS in the vehicle. Located in the vehicle was a plastic cylinder containing suspected cocaine. Located on Brooks was another plastic cylinder containing suspected cocaine. Brooks was arrested and charged with CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana and CDS: Possession-Paraphernalia.

Drug Arrest- On June 16, 2022, Dep. McLean arrested Nicole Anne Kelly, age 36 of Lexington Park, on an outstanding warrant and transported her to the detention center.  A female correctional officer located a bag of pills hidden in Kelly's bra. Kelly had suspected Percocet, Zolpidem Tartrate, and Fentanyl in the bag. Kelly was charged with CDS: Possession- Not Marijuana and Possession of CDS While Confined/Detention Center.

Violate Protective Order- On June 25, 2022, Dep. Kirscht responded to the 23800 block of Hollywood Road in Hollywood, for the reported disturbance. Marcell Jermaine Taylor, age 28 of Hollywood, was located on scene. Taylor is prohibited by a valid court order from being at the residence and contacting the victim. Taylor was arrested and charged with Violate Protective Order. (No Photograph Available)

Assault- On June 26, 2022, Cpl. McClure responded to the 41800 block of Tomey Court in Leonardtown, for the reported assault. Investigation determined George Henry Wilson III, age 18 of Leonardtown, assaulted the victim by striking the victim in the face and back. Visible injury was observed to the victim and Wilson was charged with Assault 2nd Degree.

Illegal Possession of Ammunition- On June 26, 2022, deputies from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office served a search and seizure warrant in the 21600 block of Forest Run Drive in Lexington Park. Ammunition was recovered during the search warrant. Investigation determined the ammunition belonged to Joshua Alexander Mason, age 38 of Lexington Park. Mason if prohibited by law from possessing ammunition. Mason was arrested and charged with Illegal Possession of Ammunition.

Assault- On June 27, 2022, Dep. Kirscht responded to the St. Mary's County Detention Center in Leonardtown, for the reported assault. Investigation determined Antwaun Augustus Williams, age 50 of South Carolina, assaulted the victim in a cell at the detention center. The victim had visible injury and Williams was charged with Assault 2nd Degree.

Lexington Park Shooting Under Investigation

 


On Friday, June 24, 2022, at approximately 11:03 pm, deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of 21400 Exquisite Court in Lexington Park for the report of a shooting. Once on scene, deputies located a 43-year-old male victim suffering from a single gunshot wound to the upper body.

The victim was flown to a local trauma center for treatment. Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene and continued the investigation.

Reckless Endangerment in Hollywood Under Investigation

 

On June 25, 2022, at 10:46 p.m. deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 24400 block of Mervell Dean Road in Hollywood, for the reported shooting. Upon arrival, an 18-year-old male victim was located suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. The victim was transported by helicopter to an area trauma center for treatment. Detectives and Crime Lab Personnel from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and continued the investigation.

Identity Needed for Theft Suspect

June 28, 2022 update: The suspect has been identified. Thank you for your assistance. 

The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office is seeking the identity of the person pictured in a theft investigation. On Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 1:40 pm, the suspect placed three items in her purse at the Optimal Vapor store in Lexington Park and left the establishment without paying. The suspect and other person of interest were observed in a white Kia Optima with Maryland tags.

Obstructing and Hindering- On June 16, 2022, Cpl. Holdsworth responded to the 21600 block of FDR Boulevard in Lexington Park, for the reported trespassing. While conducting the investigation Tyrese Xavier Briscoe, age 23 of Lexington Park, arrived on scene and interrupted the investigation and attempted to remove the individual speaking with Cpl. Holdsworth. Briscoe then stood between Cpl. Holdsworth and the other party, preventing Cpl. Holdsworth from conducting the investigation. Briscoe was advised he was under arrest and resisted by pulling away and not allowing himself to be handcuffed. Briscoe was charged with Obstructing and Hindering and Resisting Arrest.

Trespassing- On June 17, 2022, Dep. Budd responded to the 22700 block of Three Notch Road in Lexington Park, for the reported trespassing. Investigation determined Blake Edwin Sahr, age 21 of Ohio, was previously served a notice not to trespass for the establishment. Sahr was located on scene and arrested. Sahr was charged with Trespass: Private Property.

Trespassing- On June 17, 2022, Cpl. Beishline responded to the 22700 block of Three Notch Road in Lexington Park, for the reported trespassing. Investigation determined Dalton Matthew Locklar, age 24 of Hollywood, was served a notice not to trespass and told to leave the property. A while later Locklar again returned to the property. Locklar was arrested and charged with Trespass: Private Property.

Burglary- On June 17, 2022, Dep. Budd responded to the 47000 block of Devin Circle in Lexington Park, for the reported threats. Investigation determined Shantell Shanece Swales, age 29 of Lexington Park, entered the victim's residence via the unsecured front door, and had also been outside yelling threats to others in the neighborhood. Swales was arrested and charged with Burglary 4th Degree.

Assault/Protective Order Violation- On June 19, 2022, Dep. Shubrooks responded to the 24000 block of Point Lookout Road in Leonardtown, for the reported disturbance. The victim advised while driving, Darcee Elise Anthony, age 66 of Piney Point, began striking him on the arm with a shoe. There is a valid court order prohibiting the victim from threatening or abusing the victim. Anthony was arrested and charged with Violate Protective Order.

Violation of Peace Order/Assault- On June 21, 2022, Dep. Jerew responded to the 23200 block of Point Lookout Road in Leonardtown, for the reported peace order violation. The victim and witness advise  Arron Michael Griffin, age 43 of Leonardtown, was yelling, cursing and threatening them. There is a valid court order preventing Griffin from contacting the victim. Griffin was arrested and began to spit in the direction of the victim and also spit on a deputy on scene. Griffin was charged with Peace Order: Fail to Comply and Assault 2nd Degree.

Disorderly Conduct/Trespassing- On June 21, 2022, Dep. Jerew responded to the 43900 block of St. John's Road in Hollywood, for the reported disturbance. Upon arrival Christian Alexander Montanez, age 26 of California, was observed on the property. Montanez was previously issued a notice not to trespass for the property. Investigation determined Montanez came to the establishment and began to cause a disturbance and began banging on the doors when employees locked him out due to his behavior. Montanez was arrested and charged with Trespass: Private Property and Disorderly Conduct.

Great Mills Man Arrested for Armed Robbery

 

On June 13, 2022, deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 21200 block of Mayfaire Lane in Lexington Park, for the reported robbery. The victim advised she met the suspect in the parking lot and got into his vehicle to purchase property.  During the transaction, the suspect produced a firearm and threatened the victim and stole U.S. currency from the victim. Investigation determined the suspect involved to be Jaonta Amin Thompson, age 21 of Great Mills.

On June 21, 2022, Thompson was located and arrested. Thompson was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown, and charged with the following:

Assault First Degree

Assault Second Degree

Thompson remains incarcerated at the detention center on a no-bond status.

Violate Protective Order- On June 15, 2022, Dep. Rycyzyn responded to the 23700 block of Three Notch Road in Hollywood, for the reported single vehicle accident. While investigating the accident it was discovered there is a valid court order prohibiting the vehicle operator, Carly Ann Morgan, age 27 of Lusby, from contacting the victim who was present on scene. Morgan began to yell at the victim while deputies were on scene conducting the investigation. Morgan was arrested and charged with Violate Protective Order.
