On View Arrests/Warrants/Criminal Citations

On View Arrests:

Possession of Contraband- On August 10, 2022, Dep. Gardiner responded to the St. Mary's County Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown, for the reported found contraband. Investigation determined Caitlin Ann Mossbarger, age 32 of Park Hall, had an unmarked pill hidden on her person. Mossbarger was charged with Possession of Contraband at Place of Confinement.

Drug Arrest- On August 22, 2022, Dep. Hudson responded to the 37000 block of Asher Road in Mechanicsville, for the reported single vehicle collision. Investigation determined the vehicle was operated by Ohmer Watson Webb IV, age 38 of Mechanicsville. Located in the vehicle was a bag containing a syringe, spoon, and suspected heroin. Webb was arrested and charged with CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana, CDS: Possession-Paraphernalia and Driving While Impaired.

Theft/Drug Arrest- On August 23, 2022, Dep. Wimberly responded to the 21600 block of Great Mills Road in Lexington Park, for the reported theft. Investigation determined Nathan Lee Davis, age 30 of no fixed address, removed two tool boxes containing various tools from the victim's vehicle. Davis was located a short distance away and the tool boxes were recovered. Located on Davis was a piece of folded cardboard containing suspected cocaine and a gum wrapper containing suspected heroin. Also located in Davis's shorts was a suspected CDS smoking device containing residue. Davis was arrested and charged with Theft and CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana.

Assault- On August 26, 2022, Dep. Wimberly responded to the 45000 block of Westmeath Way in California, for the reported assault. Investigation determined Russell Allen Randall, age 41 of California, assaulted the victim by striking the victim in the face, causing visible injury. Randall was arrested and charged with Assault 2nd Degree.

Assault/Violate Protective Order- On August 26, 2022, DFC. Westphal responded to the 21800 block of FDR Boulevard in Lexington Park, for the reported assault. Investigation determined Larry Anthony Pickeral, age 34 of Bryantown, assaulted the victim by pushing the victim against a vehicle, causing visible injury. Pickeral also violated a valid court order by contacting and assaulting the victim. Pickeral was charged with Assault 2nd Degree and Violate Protective Order.

Assault/Child Abuse- On August 26, 2022, Dep. Morgan responded to the 44900 block of St. Andrew's Church Road in California, for the reported assault. Investigation determined Angela Monique Dyer, age 35 of Lexington Park, struck the juvenile victim with a curtain rod, causing injury to the victim's knee, which required medical treatment. Dyer was arrested and charged with Assault 2nd Degree and Child Abuse 2nd Degree.

Violate Protective Order- On August 27, 2022, Dep. Dixon responded to the St. Mary's County Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown, for the reported protective order violation. Investigation determined Mindy Jo Blado, age 42 of Mechanicsville, violated a valid court order by attempting to contact the victim by phone numerous times. Blado was charged with Violate Protective Order.

Theft/Drug Arrest- On August 8, 2022, Dep. Wimberly responded to the 44100 block of St. Andrew's Church Road in California, for the reported vehicle theft. On August 28, 2022, Dep. Wimberly located the victim's vehicle in the 21800 block of Ronald Drive in Lexington Park, occupied by Timothy Wayne Brooks, age 51 of California.   Brooks was arrested and located in Brooks' pocket was a plastic baggie containing suspected cocaine. Brooks was arrested and charged with Theft, Motor Vehicle Unlawful Taking, and CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana.

Violate Protective Order- On August 29, 2022, DFC. Hersh responded to District Court in Leonardtown, for the reported violation of a protective order. Investigation determined while the victim was in court, Danielle Lynette Washington, age 35 of Lexington Park, who was also present in the courtroom, threatened and cursed at the victim, in violation of a valid court order. Washington was arrested and charged with Violate Protective Order.

Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit Moving Into New Animal Shelter

St. Mary's County officials and numerous members of the community gathered Tuesday to celebrate the opening of a new animal shelter in California. The St. Mary's County Animal Adoption and Resource Center opens to the public on Monday, Sept. 12, 2022. The facility provides four main components: a domestic animal shelter, a barn/stable for larger animals; an adoption center and office and training space for the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit.

Assault- On August 17, 2022, Dep. Dixon responded to the 44600 block of Joy Chapel Road in Hollywood, for the reported assault. Investigation determined Katherine Ann Combs, age 37 of Hollywood, pushed and scratched the victim, causing visible injury to the victim. Combs was arrested and charged with Assault 2nd Degree. Violate Protective Order- On August 17, 2022, Dep. Katulich responded to the 20900 block of Coronet Place in Lexington Park, for the reported protective order violation. Investigation determined Deandre Holness, age 26 of California, sent numerous text messages to the victim, violating a valid court order. Holness was arrested and charged with Violate Protective Order.

Assault- On August 18, 2022, DFC. Fenwick responded to the 22000 block of Orchid Bloom Way in Lexington Park, for the reported assault. Investigation determined Camilliha Lashay Somerville, age 28 of Lexington Park, assaulted the victim by punching the victim in the head numerous times, causing visible injury. Somerville was arrested and charged with Assault 2nd Degree.

Assault- On August 18, 2022, Cpl. Pontorno responded to the 30200 block of Charlotte Hall Road in Charlotte Hall, for the reported disturbance. Investigation determined Donte Christopher Curtis, age 42 of Charlotte Hall, scratched the victim during an argument, causing visible injury to the victim's wrist. Curtis was arrested and charged with Assault 2nd Degree.

Assault- On August 20, 2022, DFC. Luffey responded to the St. Mary's County Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown, for the reported assault. Investigation determined William Edward Johnson, age 32 of Suitland and Tyquan Samuel Wills, age 22 of Lexington Park, entered into a mutual assault in the dayroom. Johnson and Wills were charged with Assault 2nd Degree.

Assault- On August 21, 2022, Dep. Jerew responded to the 21200 block of Mayfaire Lane in Lexington Park, for the reported assault. Investigation determined Tysenne Cheyenne Orndorff, age 23 of Lexington Park, threw two picture frames at the victim, which struck the victim's arm, causing visible injury. Violate Protective Order- On August 21, 2022, Dep. Tasciotti conducted a traffic stop in the 22300 block of Three Notch Road in California. The passenger in the vehicle was identified as Davon Amonie Barnes, age 26 of Lexington Park. Investigation determined Barnes was a respondent in a protective order which prevented him from contacting the victim, who was the operator of the vehicle. Barnes was arrested and charged with Violate Protective Order.

Investigation determined Eric Javon Thomas, age 40 of California, strangled and struck the victim in the ankle, causing visible injury to the victim. Thomas was arrested and charged with Assault 1st and 2nd Degree.

Investigation determined Sylvia Denise Young, age 42 of Lexington Park, struck the victim in the face multiple times, causing visible injury to the victim. Meet the Sheriff's Office's K-9 Team on National Dog Day

Today, Aug. 26, 2022, is National Dog Day in the United States, a day to recognize all that family and working dogs do for us everyday. The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office is marking the occasion by showcasing our K-9 Unit, a component of the agency's Special Operations Division. 

The Sheriff’s Office fields four canine teams who are certified annually by the International Police Work Dog Association and train weekly to maintain their craft. The teams are certified in patrol and drug detection and are used to conduct building searches, evidence recovery, tracking for criminal suspects, drug detection, and apprehension of violent offenders. The unit also has two single-purpose canines trained in explosive detection.

Tall Timbers Man Arrested for CDS Distribution

 

On August 24, 2022, detectives with the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Vice Narcotics Division, along with members of the Emergency Services Team (EST) and Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit, executed a search and seizure warrant in the 17800 block of 2nd Street in Tall Timbers. Located in a vehicle at the residence was Kenneth Markell Chase, age 49 of Tall Timbers. Recovered during the execution of the warrant was U.S. currency and suspected suboxone.

Chase was arrested and charged with CDS: Possession with Intent to Distribute and CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana.
