Armed Robberies

On October 28, 2015, at 10:02 p.m., St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the CVS located at 26020 Point Lookout Road in Leonardtown, for the report of an armed robbery. A black male suspect entered the business armed with a handgun and demanded cash and other items from the victim, an employee of CVS. The suspect was talking to a co-conspirator on a cellphone before fleeing on foot toward a woodline on Maypole Road in Leonardtown. Witnesses who were near CVS at the time of the robbery described a vehicle they had seen in the area during the time of the robbery. Patrol Officers located a vehicle matching the description in the area of Three Notch and Jones Wharf Road in Hollywood. Contact was made with the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle. The driver, Trevone Demone Butler, age 25, Lexington Park, was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. During an interview with detectives, Butler acknowledged he provided transportation to the black male suspect and communicated with him during the robbery. Butler was charged with Armed Robbery and Driving on a Suspended License.

On October 25, 2015, at approximately 2:50 am, a black male suspect entered the Dash-In, located in Leonardtown, Maryland. The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded currency.  After obtaining money from the employee, the suspect fled on foot.

On October 22, 2015, at approximately 12:47 am, a black male suspect entered the Papa John’s, located in Lexington Park, Maryland.  The armed suspect demanded and obtained money from the employees.  The suspect then fled on foot from the business.
On October 21, 2015, at approximately 11:56 pm, a black male suspect entered the Super 8 Motel, located in California, Maryland and stole currency belonging to the business.

 On October 20, 2015, at approximately 11:12 pm, a black male suspect committed an armed robbery of The Sign of the Whale, located in Lexington Park, Maryland.  The suspect demanded and obtained currency.  The suspect then fled on foot from the business.

Detectives from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded and assumed the investigations.  The same suspects are believed to be involved in all incidents.  The suspect is described as a black male, thin build, and approximately 6’00” tall.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Corporal David Alexander at 301-475-4200,   ext. 1954 or by email at David.Alexander@stmarysmd.com.
