In June 2015, Mrs. Jennifer Stone was selected as the first civilian Public Information Officer (PIO) for the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office, replacing the interim PIO Sergeant Cara Grumbles. Mrs. Stone was selected from several qualified applicants to fill this position and will be responsible for establishing cooperative relationships with the media in addition to managing communication with the Citizens of St. Mary’s County.
Mrs. Stone has a degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Leadership Studies from Frostburg State University. She was previously employed at the St. Mary's County Department of Aging & Human Services as the Community Programs & Outreach Division Manager.
On August 17, 2015, Mrs. Stone began her career with the Sheriff's Office and is the primary contact for all public relations and media matters.
