At approximately 8:06 a.m. this morning, Sheriff Tim Cameron
while assisting on the scene of a motor
vehicle accident on Pin Cushion Road. He was providing care to the operator of a vehicle.
Fire apparatus approached the scene and struck Sheriff Tim Cameron. As a result of
the collision, Sheriff Cameron was injured
and transported to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment.
Update – 8:37 a.m.
St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office reconstruction team is on
the scene conducting an investigation. Incorrect information has been released that Sheriff Tim Cameron was “struck” with a “firearm.” This information
is incorrect. Sheriff Tim Cameron was struck by a firetruck while assisting an
injured motorist. More details will be provided
as they become available.
