Press Release -- VICE NARCOTICS

Detectives identified Danielyn Winder as a distributor of cocaine throughout Southern Maryland to include St. Mary’s County. Undercover purchases of cocaine were conducted and detectives obtained a search and seizure warrant for the target’s person and vehicle. Detectives observed Suspect Winder on Great Mills Road and a Vice/Narcotics Support Team Deputy made contact with him, placing him into custody pending execution of the search warrants. Suspect Winder, while handcuffed, fled on foot and was caught after a short chase by undercover officers.

A search of Suspect Winder’s person and his vehicle yielded 66 individually packaged baggies of crack cocaine and two additional bags of both power and “crack cocaine” totaling approximately $8,000. In addition to the cocaine, multiple bottles of “Promethazine” and more than two and half ounces of marijuana, three cellular phones and nearly $3,000 in cash were recovered. Detective also seized Suspect Winder’s 2001 Toyota. Suspect Winder is currently out on bail in Calvert County for “Possession with Intent to Distribute” and is scheduled to stand trial on those charges on December 9th, 2015. Additional charges are expected after the investigation is reviewed with State’s Attorney Richard D. Fritz.
