On April 17, 2016, at approximately
8:55 p.m., patrol units from the St. Mary’s
County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a serious motor vehicle collision on Three Notch Road in the area of
Clover Hill Road in Hollywood. Units arrived on
scene to discover three vehicles involved in a collision. The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Collision

Preliminary investigation revealed a
2010 Nissan Altima being operated by
George Taylor, 54, of La Plata, was traveling Eastbound on Clover Hill
Road. The vehicle was stationary,
partially in the southbound lane and the
median crossover, waiting to continue north on Three Notch Road. The Nissan was
struck by a 2013 Harley Davidson Road King, operated by George Alvey Jr,
55, of Hollywood. Alvey was ejected from the motorcycle; the motorcycle continued sliding south on Three Notch
Road until it struck a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer, operated by Patricia
Moreland, 65, of Hollywood. Alvey suffered extensive injuries and was pronounced
deceased at the scene.
At this time, the motorcycle’s speed
is believed to be a contributing factor.
