On April 16, 2016, at
approximately 12:32 a.m., Patrol officers from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s
Office responded to a serious motor
vehicle collision in the area of Golden Beach Road and Jarrell Drive in
Mechanicsville.
Preliminary investigation revealed, Brandon Sean Maguire,
age 39, of Mechanicsville, was traveling eastbound on Golden Beach Road in a
2003 Jeep Wrangler. For unknown reasons, Maguire’s vehicle crossed the center
line and struck (head-on) a 2000 Ford F150, operated by Albert Kendal Lowry, age
50, of Mechanicsville.
Maguire was flown to Prince George’s Hospital with
serious injuries. Lowry was transported to Medstar St. Mary’s Hospital for the
treatment of chest and wrist injuries.
On April 17, 2016, Maguire succumbed to injuries
during treatment at Prince George’s Hospital.
Due to the severity of the injuries, the St. Mary's County Sheriff's
Office Collision Reconstruction Unit has assumed the investigation. Anyone who
