Linda Reno, a member of the Sheriff’s history book committee, interviews former St. Mary’s County Sheriff, Richard J. Voorhaar. Voorhaar served two terms spanning from 1994 – 2002.
A volunteer committee has been working diligently to research and record the Sheriff’s Office history in a commemorative book. The book will present the history of the office through a series of photographs, illustrations, artifacts, articles, newspaper clippings and interviews. The book highlights the oldest and continuously operational Sheriff’s Office in the nation.
