On April 4, 2016, at approximately 7:52 a.m., patrol units from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Point Lookout Road and Loveville Road in Leonardtown, for the report of a serious motor vehicle collision.
Members of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
The investigation revealed a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, being operated by a juvenile from Hughesville, crossed the centerline and struck a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado being operated by Margaret Redman, age 56, of Brandywine.
Lagana and Redman were transported via “Trooper 7” to Prince George’s Hospital Trauma Center.
Speed and failure to drive right of center appear to be contributing factors, and the case remains under investigation.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision and has not provided a statement is asked to contact Corporal Brian Connelly at 301-863-4816, ext. 1456.
