2 Suspects Arrested for Burglary & Theft of Jewelry - Calub, Jaxel

Mechanicsville, Maryland - In March 2015, deputies responded to a residence in the 38000 block of Chaptico Road, for a burglary. The victim reported her residence had been burglarized sometime between December 18, 2014 and March 26, 2015, and over 100 pieces of jewelry were stolen valued at over $50,000. 

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division assumed the investigation and developed Kyle Matthew Calub, age 25, of Mechanicsville, and Ashley Lorene Jaxel, age 26, of Mechanicsville, as suspects. Detectives learned several of the pieces of jewelry had been sold to Max Gold Buyers in Charles County by suspect Jaxel. Search and seizure warrants were executed and additional evidence was recovered. 

Calub and Jaxel were placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center by Detective Corporal David Alexander. Both were charged with 1st Degree Burglary and Theft $10,000 to $100,000. CASE #17534-15
