Drug Possession – On April 17, 2015, Deputy Flerlage stopped a silver Dodge sport utility vehicle for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the driver and sole occupant, identified as Joseph Jeremiah Reed, age 33, of Waldorf, Deputy Flerlage smelled an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted at which time a cellophane baggie containing two (2) blue pills, (suspected oxycodone), was located under the passenger side front seat. Reed was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was charged with Possession Controlled Dangerous Substance: Not Marijuana. CASE #21836-15

Assault – On April 18, 2015, Deputy Schultz responded to a residence on Park Pines Drive in Lexington Park, for a reported assault. The victim alleged suspect Edwin Standford Foote, JR., age 52, of Lexington Park, poked the victim in the face then grabbed the victim’s chin. The victim attempted to leave in a vehicle, however Foote stood in front of the car door. Foote moved after the victim threatened to call police. Foote was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was charged with 2nd Degree Assault. CASE #22132-15

Assault – On April 18, 2015, Deputy H. Smith responded to a residence in the 39000 block of Mount Wolf Road in Charlotte Hall, for a reported attempted burglary. The victim alleged suspect, Marc Joseph Batholomew, age 47, of Charlotte Hall, began arguing with the victim over damage to a window. Batholomew picked the victim up under the armpits and pushed the victim into a hallway. Batholomew was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was charged with 2nd Degree Assault. The burglary was unfounded. CASE #22161-15

Theft – On April 18, 2015, Deputy Knott responded to the California Walmart for a reported theft. A loss prevention employee alleged suspect Katherine Marie Higgs, age 37, of Avenue, entered the self-checkout with a cart full of merchandise. She scanned and paid for a few of the items then attempted to leave the store with entire cart of merchandise. The value of the stolen items was over $130.00. Higgs was charged with Theft Under $1,000 by criminal citation. CASE #22182-15

Theft/Drug Possession – On April 19, 2015, Corporal Seyfried responded to the California Walmart for a reported theft. A loss prevention employee reported suspects Patricia Josephine Fields, age 23, of Leonardtown, and Amber Renne Stewart, age 24, of Lusby, stole items of merchandise from the business. They concealed the items and had passed all points of sale when they were stopped by loss prevention. The total value of merchandise was over $80.00. During a search conducted after their arrest, both suspects were found to be in possession of hypodermic needles used to inject heroin. Fields and Stewart were transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged with Theft Under $100 and Possession Paraphernalia. CASE #22428-15

Drug Possession – On April 20, 2015, Deputy Fennessey responded to a residence on Horseshoe Road in Clements, at the request of members of the Maryland Department of Public Safety Warrant Apprehension Unit. Detectives responded to the residence to serve an arrest warrant on Laffan Xavier Price, age 57, of Leonardtown. Detectives observed a male suspect matching the description of Price fleeing on foot. The male was subsequently apprehended and identified as Laffan Price. As Price fled on foot, detectives saw him throw a clear plastic bag under a vehicle. Inside the bag were several smaller folded pieces of paper containing suspected heroin. Price was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was charged with Possession Controlled Dangerous Substance – Not Marijuana. CASE #22549-15
