The deceased is identified as Kevin Kiandre Lawrence Powell, age 22, of Lexington Park. The Volkswagen was operated by a male, age 36, of Clements. The Chevrolet Suburban was operated by a female, age 53, of Lexington Park.

Lexington Park, Maryland - On September 11, 2014 at approximately 7:40 PM, deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident on Town Creek Drive in the area of Dent Drive. The preliminary investigation conducted by Deputy Bowen indicated a male, age 22, wearing all dark clothing was operating a motorized minibike on Town Creek Drive without lights. A Volkswagen passenger vehicle traveling on Town Creek Drive struck the minibike, ejecting the driver. A Chevrolet Suburban, traveling in the opposite direction on Town Creek Drive, then struck the driver pinning him under the vehicle. Fire and EMS extricated the driver and he was flown to an area hospital with life threatening injuries by MSP Trooper 7. Sheriff's Office Accident Reconstruction Team members responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.

At approximately 2:00 AM, the Sheriff's Office was notified the driver had died from his injuries. The name of the driver will be released pending notification of the next of kin.
