2 Arrests for Robbery and Assualt

Mechanicsville, Maryland - On September 13, 2014, Sheriff’s Office Patrol units responded to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital for a reported assault.  Deputies learned a male victim had entered the hospital seeking treatment for an injury he received while involved in a fight at a residence located on Laurel Court. The victim was subsequently transported to Prince George's Shock Trauma Center with serious injuries.  The Criminal Investigations Division was contacted and assumed the investigation.

Detectives determined the victim was attending a party when he saw a friend being assaulted and robbed by several male subjects.  When the victim attempted to help his friend, several of the suspects began beating him causing serious facial injuries.

Further investigation revealed the victim in the original fight had been approached by several male subjects who insinuated they were armed and demanded he remove everything from his pockets. When he refused, the suspects began assaulting him, knocking him to the ground, then reaching into his pockets stealing money and a cell phone.

Detectives learned the identity of the suspects and obtained warrants for their arrest.  On September 17, 2014, detectives arrested Kairon (NMN) Hawkins, age 19 of Lusby, charging him with Robbery, 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Assault and Theft less than $1,000.

On September 18, 2014, detectives arrested Emory J. Baldwin IV, age 19, of St. Leonard, and charged him with Robbery, 1st Degree assault, 2nd Degree Assault and Theft less than $1,000.
