| Sgt. Michael Gray departs the Sheriff's Office saluted by members of the Emergency Services Team |
Sheriff Tim Cameron and the men and women of the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office said farewell on Thursday to Sgt. Michael Gray, who retired after 25 years with the agency.
In his outstanding career with the Sheriff's Office, Sgt. Gray spent time in the Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations Division and the Office of Professional Responsibilities. He was also the lead firearms instructor and supervisor of the Emergency Services Team.
"It has been a pleasure for me to work closely with Mike for many years," Sheriff Cameron said. "I valued his work ethic, his commitment to the citizens and I am humbled by his loyalty. Thanks, Mike. God bless. We wish you good health and happiness."
"From beginning to end, Sgt. Gray's career was always guided by a strict moral standard and defined by no-nonsense police work done right," Capt. Steven Hall, Commander of the Special Operations Division, said. "A man of few words, Sgt. Gray leaves the Office of the Sheriff allowing his quarter of a century body of work to speak for him, but his career can be exemplified by his favorite motto: 'Exitus Acta Probat,' which translates to 'The outcome justifies the deed.'"
The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office wishes Sgt. Gray best wishes upon his retirement.
