On View Arrests:
Drug Arrest- On February 19, 2020, Dep. Katulich responded to the 45300 block of Abell Lane in California, for the report of an individual in a vehicle using CDS. Contact was made with the individual in the vehicle, Stephen Charles Quijada, age 25 of Lusby. A search of Quijada revealed a plastic bag located on his person containing suspected heroin. Located on the floorboard of the vehicle was a hypodermic needle. Quijada was arrested and charged with CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana and CDS: Possession-Paraphernalia. CASE# 10362-20

Violation of Protective Order- On February 26, 2020, Dep. Haas responded to the 39000 block of Daniel Circle in Mechanicsville, and made contact with Homer Wallace Canter, age 67 of Mechanicsville. Canter is the respondent of a valid court order prohibiting Canter from having any firearms in his possession. A shotgun was located in Canter's residence. Canter was charged with Violation of Extreme Risk Protective Order. CASE# 11808-20

Burglary- On February 27, 2020, Dep. Edwards responded to the 22800 block of Three Notch Road in California, for the reported burglary. Investigation determined Justin Steven Cherrico, age 34 of Mechanicsville, was ordered to leave the property and hotel room by the victim and employee of the establishment. Cherrico returned to the property and forced entry to the hotel room through a window. Cherrico was arrested and charged with Burglary 3rd Degree. CASE# 12081-20

Possession of Contraband- On February 27, 2020, Dep. Edwards responded to the St. Mary's County Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown, for the reported found contraband. Investigation determined Zachary Alan Kiger, age 30 of Lexington Park, was found to have suspected tobacco hidden inside his shoes when he returned to the facility from work release. Kiger was charged with Possession of Contraband at Place of Confinement. CASE# 12115-20

Burglary- On February 28, 2020, Cpl. Knott responded to the 45500 block of Pleasant Drive in Great Mills for the reported burglary. Investigation determined Shamiya Shawnte Taylor, age 20 of Lexington Park, entered the victim's residence without permission to gather belongings. When Taylor was placed under arrest she pulled away from deputies. Taylor was charged with Burglary 4th Degree and Resist/Interfere with Arrest. CASE# 12299-20

Assault/Fail to Obey/Hindering/Drug Arrest- On February 28, 2020, Dep. Wimberly responded to the 20800 block of Langley Road in Great Mills, for the reported fight in progress. Upon arrival contact was made with Robert Earl Williams, age 55 of Lexington Park. Investigation determined Williams was involved in the altercation. Williams refused to provide Dep. Wimberly with his name or any other identifying information, and when taken into custody Williams resisted and pulled away from Dep. Wimberly. While attempting to place Williams under arrest, Williams struck Dep. Wimberly in the upper body and torso area. Williams was taken into custody and located inside Williams' book bag was a plastic baggie containing several pills (suspected Hydrocodone). Williams was charged with Assault 2nd Degree, CDS: Possession-Not Marijuana, Fail to Obey Reasonable/Lawful Order, Obstructing and Hindering, and Disturbing the Peace/Disorderly Conduct. Assault- On February 28, 2020, DFC. McClure responded to the 49400 block of Holland Manor Drive in Ridge, for the reported disturbance. Investigation determined Trey Dominic Barnes, age 33 of no fixed address, assaulted the victim by punching the victim in the face. Barnes was arrested and charged with Assault 2nd Degree. Assault/Hindering- On March 1, 2020, Dep. Myers responded to the 21600 block of Great Mills Road in Lexington Park, for the reported assault. While deputies were on scene interviewing the victim, Cornelius NMN Fenwick, age 43 of no fixed address, interrupted the interview multiple times, yelled at the victim, and attempted to push past deputies to gain access to the victim. The victim also advised Fenwick threw the victim to the ground prior to the arrival of law enforcement. Fenwick was arrested and charged with Assault 2nd Degree and Obstructing and Hindering.
