Dr. Brewster Recognized

On March 6, 2018, St. Mary's County Health Officer, Dr. Meenakshi G. Brewster, was recognized for her outstanding efforts to combat the Nation's opioid crisis.  Sheriff Tim Cameron presented Dr. Brewster with a Sheriff's Salute, and she was also the recipient of the FBI Director's Community Leadership award, for her vigorous campaign to address the opioid crisis.  Dr. Brewster has established a partnership with law enforcement, provided training to law enforcement as well as citizens on administering Naloxone, and has expanded the availability of Naloxone, which can block the effects of opioids to someone in an opioid overdose, thus saving countless lives. #BeTheFIRST
