04/28/17 – Malicious Destruction of Property valued over $1000 – Deputy J. Davis responded to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center in Leonardtown, MD, for the report of a Property Destruction. The iInvestigation revealed the suspect Dwayne Anthony Thompson, 54 of Loveville, MD, is currently incarcerated at the facility and intentionally caused damage to a light fixture within his cell, valued at over $1000. The suspect was arrested and charged with Malicious Destruction of Property valued over $1000 and released back to the custody of the Detention Center. CCN# 22582-17

04/29/17 – Indecent Exposure/Intoxicated Public Disturbance/Disorderly Conduct and Failure to Obey a Lawful Order. Deputies responded to a business parking lot in the 21000 block of Great Mills Rd., Lexington Park, MD for a female subject exposing her naked body inside of a vehicle. Upon arrival, Corporal T. Snyder observed the suspect, Deborah Ann Barnaby, 51 of Lexington Park, MD, sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle naked with the passenger side door open. The suspect appeared to be intoxicated and refused to put her clothing on after being ordered to several times by Corporal T. Snyder. During this encounter the suspect yelled at officers, her behavior caused people to stop and watch the incident unfold as well as see the suspects exposed body. The suspect was subsequently arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where she was charged with Indecent Exposure, Intoxicated Public Disturbance, Disorderly Conduct and Failure to Obey a Lawful Order. 04/29/17 – Theft Less than $1000 – Deputies responded to the Kohl’s Department Store in Lexington Park, MD, for the report of a theft. The investigation revealed the suspect Lesley Ann Wilson, 39 of Huntingtown, MD, entered the Kohl’s Department store, and concealed several items within her purse. The suspect paid for some items she had picked up, however, did not attempt to pay for the items concealed in her purse. The suspect then passed all points of sale at which time Deputy First Class R. Steinbach detained the suspect. All stolen items were recovered and the suspect was charged on a Criminal Citation for Theft less $1,000. CCN# 22854-17

04/30/17 – Violation of a Protective Order - Deputy A. Budd responded to a residence in the 22000 block of Upland Dr., Bushwood, MD, for an alleged violation of a protective order. The investigation revealed the suspect, identified as Robert Lee Jupiter III, 34 of Lexington Park, MD, contacted the victim’s cell phone repeatedly and left a voicemail threatening the victim’s life. This contact is in direct violation of an active Protective Order prohibiting the suspect to contact, harass, or threaten the victim. The suspect was located, arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was charged with Violation of a Protective Order. CCN# 22877-17

05/01/17 – Assault 2nd Degree on DOC Employee - Corporal J. Somerville responded to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center in Leonardtown, MD, for a reported assault on a Correctional Officer. The investigation revealed a correctional officer was accessing the suspect's cell so medical personnel could check on the suspect, identified as Linda Marie King, 56 of California, MD. The suspect was originally compliant and sat on the bunk as ordered by the Correctional Officer. However, once the cell door was unlocked the suspect ran towards the door forcing it open. The suspect attempted to remove the correctional officer's cell keys from their possession and a struggle ensued. The correctional officer was able to get the suspect back into the cell but not before the suspect bit the correctional officer twice on the left hand. The suspect was arrested and charged with Assault 2nd Degree on DOC Employee. She was then released back to the custody of the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. CCN# 23176-17

05/02/17 - Violation of Protective Order - Deputy D. Holdsworth, Deputies responded to the 40000 block of Breton View Dr. Leonardtown, MD, for the report a male suspect observed climbing onto the rear deck of a residence and then entering the residence. The investigation revealed the suspect, identified as Steven Wayne Sams, 37 of Waldorf, MD, entered the residence after being served a Protective Order which prohibits the suspect from being on the property or entering the residence. The suspect fled the scene prior to Deputies arrival, however, responding units observed the suspect vehicle operating at a high speed within the immediate area. The suspect vehicle a short distance later left the roadway onto private property, subsequently coming to rest behind a residence on Newtowne Neck Rd., Leonardtown, MD. The suspect fled on foot but was subsequently located within the hour, walking on Pin Cushion Rd. in Leonardtown, MD. Deputy D. Holdsworth arrested the suspect and transported him to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was charged with Violation of Protective Order and related traffic citations. 05/03/17 – CDS Possession - Not Marijuana - Corporal K. Flerlage initiated a traffic stop on the suspect's vehicle in the area of Route 5 and Terrika Lane, Loveville, MD, for speeding. Upon contact, the driver was identified as Lamont Luther Johnson, 43 of Leonardtown, MD. Corporal K. Flerlage could smell the distinct odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The investigation uncovered a small plastic baggie containing less than 10 grams of marijuana and a small baggie with suspected cocaine inside of the vehicle. The suspect was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was charged with CDS Possession-Not Marijuana and issued a civil citation for Possession of Marijuana less than 10 grams.
