May 5, 2017- Arrests, Criminal Summons Services, Warrant Services, and Juvenile Arrests





Cooke, Dontae Jerome
04/28/17 – Theft less $100 – Corporal K. Flerlage responded to Med Star St. Mary’s Hospital in reference to a theft.  The victim advised after checking into the Emergency Room lobby, they were called back and the victim inadvertently left her wallet on a chair.  A short while later a staff member returned the victim’s wallet to her, advising it had been turned in as found in the bathroom.   The investigation revealed the suspect identified as Dontae Jerome Cooke, 32 of Lexington Park, MD, entered the Emergency Room lobby, found the victim’s wallet and placed it into his pant's pocket.  A short time later he then entered the bathroom the wallet was found and exited after a brief stay.  The suspect was issued a Criminal Citation for Theft less $100.  CCN# 22550-17

04/29/17 – Assault 2nd Degree – Deputy M. McCuen responded to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center for an alleged assault.  The investigation revealed both suspects James Michael Wyatt, 33 of Great Mills, MD, and Sidney Hilton Thompson Jr., 23 of Lexington Park, MD, were involved in a verbal dispute while in the E-pod of the Detention Center.  The dispute escalated and became a physical fight between the two suspects.  Both suspects received injuries as a result of the altercation and received appropriate medical care.  The suspects were then arrested and released back to the custody of the detention center after both being charged with Assault 2nd Degree.  CCN# 22692-17





Young, Daniel Sylvester
04/30/17 – Conceal Dangerous Weapon and Disorderly Conduct - Sargent K. Moritz was conducting a premise check at Butler’s Place in Lexington Park, MD, when he observed two male subjects engaged in a verbal dispute in the parking lot.  The dispute quickly escalated before Sgt. Moritz could intervene, with the suspect Daniel Sylvester Young, 52 of Salisbury, MD, pulling out a set of nunchucks and aggressively engaging Sgt. Moritz and the other subject.  The suspect was found to be intoxicated and was uncooperative causing a public disturbance and created a public safety issue as patrons exited the bar to watch the incident.  Responding police units were forced to block all southbound traffic on Route 235 for the safety of bar patrons and police units on scene.  The suspect was subsequently arrested by Deputy S. Bowie and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged with Concealing a Dangerous Weapon and Disorderly Conduct. CCN# 22902-17
Butler, Diamante Raquan
04/30/17 – Disorderly Conduct – Deputies responded to the 21000 block of Ronald Dr, Lexington Park, MD, for a reported Disturbance.  Deputies located the suspect Diamante Raquan Butler, 19 of Mechanicsville, MD, standing outside yelling at a group of individuals in front of the residence.  Deputies attempted to gain an understanding of what was causing the suspect to be upset; however, he would not calm down and talk with the Deputies.  When neighbors began to exit their residences to see what the disturbance was about, deputies repeatedly directed the suspect to stop yelling profanities and talk with them.  The suspect then took an aggressive posture towards Sgt. H. Young and was subsequently arrested by Deputy S. Bowie and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was charged with Disorderly Conduct.  CCN# 23040-17

Holliday, Kathy Marie
04/30/17 – Concealed: Dangerous Weapon - Deputy First Class R. Steinbach responded to the IHOP restaurant in Lexington Park, MD, for the report of a found handgun.  The investigation revealed the suspect Kathy Marie Holliday, 37 of York, Pa, was the owner of the found handgun and was registered through Pennsylvania to carry the firearm concealed.  However, Maryland does not offer reciprocity to other states, concealed carry permits.  The suspect was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where she was charged with Concealing a Dangerous Weapon.  CCN# 22918-17





Berry, Louis Ignatius
04/30/17 – 2nd Degree Escape – Deputy A. Budd responded to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center for the report of an Escape.  The investigation revealed the suspect Louis Ignatius Berry, 49 of Leonardtown, MD, was ordered by St. Mary’s County Circuit Court Judge Michael Stamm, to report to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center to serve his sentence on 04/28/17.  The suspect failed to report as ordered and was arrested.  He was released to the custody of the detention center after being charged with 2nd Degree Escape.   CCN# 23004-17






Thompson, Dwayne Anthony

04/30/17 – Malicious Destruction of Property valued at less $1000 - Deputy P. Henry responded to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center for a reported Destruction of Property by an inmate.  The investigation revealed the suspect Dwayne Anthony Thompson, 54 of Loveville, MD, used a drinking cup to bang on his cell door window repeatedly.  The suspect’s actions caused multiple large cracks across the surface of the glass and broke the cup.  The suspect was arrested and released back to the custody of the detention center after being charged with Malicious Destruction of Property valued at less than $1000.  CCN# 22849-17

05/04/17 - Niko Tristan Jones, 33 of Lexington Park, MD, was arrested on a District Court Arrest Warrant for Assault 2nd Degree and Malicious Destruction of Property.  Arrested by Deputy First Class R. Steinbach  CCN# 22924-17

Relph, Benjamon (nmn)
05/04/17 - Benjamon (nmn) Relph, 42 of Bowie, MD, was arrested on a District Court Arrest Warrant for Theft under $1000.  Arrested by Deputy S. Shelko.  CCN# 45157-16

05/04/17 – Dennis Andrew Gibson, 35 of Chaptico, MD was charged on a Criminal Summons for Theft under $1000/Removed Manufactures serial number affixed by plate to a boat trailer preventing identification/Defaced the manufacturer’s serial number affixed by to plate to boat hull, with intent to prevent identification/Knowingly retain boat hull, boat trailer, and boat motor from which manufacturer’s serial number was removed.  Served by Deputy S. 04/16/17 – Deputy V. Pontorno arrested a 16-year-old male juvenile of Lexington Park, MD, for theft less $1000, after the juvenile stole a business sign from the Lexington Park, MD business community.  CCN# 22605-17
05-01-17 – Deputy D. Holdsworth arrested a 7-year-old male juvenile and a 9-year-old female juvenile both of Lexington Park, MD, for Assault 2nd Degree and Disturbing School Operations.  Both of the suspects engaged in a verbal altercation while on a school bus that turned into a physical altercation.  CCN# 23163-17
