Sobriety Checkpoint Yields Two Arrests

Update: The sobriety checkpoint conducted this weekend resulted in two arrests. 
Held at Great Mills Road and Pacific Drive in Lexington Park, the checkpoint lasted about 90 minutes, starting at 11:37 p.m. on Sept. 2, 2018. A total of 55 vehicles went through the checkpoint. One driver was arrested for drunk driving and another driver was arrested for possession of 28 grams of marijuana. 

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from other agencies, will be conducting a Sobriety Checkpoint on Labor Day weekend, in the overnight hours of Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018 into Monday, Sept. 3, 2018. The checkpoint will be held in the Lexington Park area. As on all occasions, drive sober or get a ride from a sober driver.
