Assault: On June 17, 2019, Cpl. Alvin Beishline responded to the 21600 block of Liberty Street in Lexington Park for the report of a disturbance.
Shonita Nicole Somerville, 38 of Lexington Park, was located in the parking lot of St. Mary’s Landing and the victim was located on Pegg Road. Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that Somerville damaged the victim’s vehicle by carving a word on the hood. Somerville then retrieved a tire iron and attempted to assault the victim, but the victim grabbed it and stopped the assault. Somerville then proceeded to strike the victim several times with her vehicle, which was observed by a witness. Somerville was arrested, transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center and charged with three counts of First-Degree Assault, three counts of Second-Degree Assault and Malicious Destruction of Property, less than $1,000. Assault: On June 14, 2019, Deputy Andrew Burgess responded to the 38000 block of Ted Circle in Avenue for the report of a disturbance. Joseph Leroy James Perry, 28 of Avenue, and the victim left the residence by vehicle and were met at the Leonardtown Library. Perry was arrested for an outstanding warrant for Second-Degree Assault and the victim advised injuries were sustained earlier that day, which were visible. Perry was arrested, transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center and charged with another count of Second-Degree Assault. Case # 34428-19

Disorderly Conduct/Affray: On June 15, 2019, Sgt. Cory Ellis observed a large crowed of 20-30 people in the parking lot of the Pegg Road Shell in Lexington Park who began fighting. Sgt. Ellis responded and gave loud verbal commands to stop the fighting. None of the citizens involved in the fight with Delonte Andre Medley, 27 of Temple Hills, remained behind to claim being a victim of any assault. The incident was witnessed by a store employee. Medley was arrested and charged by Deputy Joseph Bowling with Disorderly Conduct, Affray and Fail to Obey Lawful Order. Case # 34523-19

At the same incident, DFC Gerard Muschette observed Michael Antonio Barnes, 34 of Temple Hills, yelling loud profanities toward another unknown victim in the crowd. As the unknown victim got into the passenger seat of a vehicle to leave, DFC Muschette observed Barnes punch the victim through the open car window before fleeing the area. Barnes was arrested, transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Affray and Fail to Obey a Lawful Order. Case # 34523-19

Unlawful Taking of a Motor Vehicle: On June 15, 2019, David Tyler Foard, 20 of Ridge, walked to the American Legion in Ridge and stole a 1998 Chevrolet 1500 truck valued at $5,000 without permission of the owner. A lookout was placed for the stolen vehicle and was observed about two hours later headed northbound on Route 5. A short vehicle pursuit ensued, and Foard turned onto Buckshot Way and bailed out of the vehicle and fled on foot. Deputies apprehended Foard, who gave several false names. Foard was charged with Unlawful Taking of a Motor Vehicle and False Statement to a Peace Officer by Cpl. Dale Reppel. Case # 34614-19

Handgun in Vehicle: On June 15, 2019, Deputy Andrew Burgess observed a broken-down vehicle on Budds Creek Road. Upon rendering assistance, Deputy Burgess detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. After moving the vehicle from the roadway, deputies searched the vehicle and located a .40 caliber handgun in a purse under the driver’s seat along with a fully loaded 14-round magazine for the firearm. Monica Lisa Ball, 34 of Hampton, Va., said she did not have a permit for the handgun. Also located was suspected marijuana and 12 amphetamine and dextroamphetamine capsules. Ball was arrested and charged with Handgun in a Vehicle and CDS Possession: Not Marijuana. Case # 34563-19

Assault: On June 16, 2019, Deputy Latisha Baker responded to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown for the report of a stabbing. Deputy Baker contacted the victim who advised that Teressa Lynne DeBord, 40 of Great Mills, assaulted the victim at the 22500 block of Trim Way in Great Mills. DeBord grabbed a pair of stainless-steel scissors five inches in length and swung toward the victim’s hand, stabbing the victim’s right hand causing a deep laceration. DeBord was placed under arrest, transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center and charged with First- and Second-Degree Assault. Case # 34743-19

Theft: On June 16, 2019, Deputy Andrew Burgess contacted Darrell William Battle, 46 of Hughesville, at the Charlotte Hall McKay’s store. In May, the victim advised deputies that Battle borrowed the victim’s vehicle. When the vehicle was returned, the registration plates were not on the vehicle. Public Disturbance: On June 16, 2019, Deputy Austin Edelen responded to the 46500 block of Yorktown Road in Lexington Park for a welfare check. Deputy Edelen contacted Cpl. Dale Reppel at the scene who advised that Eric Scott Johnson, 51 of Lusby, was outside of a residence shouting. Johnson appeared to be heavily intoxicated, was uncooperative and did not want to answer any questions. Johnson appeared to be confused and did not appear to know where he was. Johnson was charged with Intoxicated Public Disturbance. Case # 34795-19

Assault: On June 17, 2019, Deputy Austin Edelen responded to the 21600 block of Great Mills Road in Lexington Park for the report of an assault. The victims advised that Monroe Maurice Gantt, 52 of Lexington Park, approached them holding a metal nail about 12 inches long. Gantt lunged into the vehicle nearly stabbing the victims. Gantt was observed in his vehicle at a nearby location with a large nail laying in the floorboard. Gantt was arrested and charged with First- and Second-Degree Assault. Case # 34820-19

Disorderly Conduct: On June 17, 2019, Cpl. Gray Maloy assisted in the disturbance call at The Mission in Lexington Park.
Dinah Marie Baker, 55 of no fixed address, was yelling inside of the building. Baker was told to leave but continued to yell and curse. Cpl. Maloy told Baker several times to stop, but she refused and continued to yell and curse, which drew a crowd outside of the building. Baker was arrested, transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center and charged with Disorderly Conduct. Case # 34903-19
