LHS students take a break during "Dunkin with Delozier"

A dozen Leonardtown High School students got a doughnut break on Friday morning with two St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Deputies.

Cpl. Angela Delozier, the School Resource Officer for LHS, came up with the idea for "Dunkin with Delozier" – a chance for students to slow down and to engage in conversation during first period.

Students at Leonardtown High School can earn Raider Strong Bucks for various prizes at the school. Students entered the drawing using their Raider Strong Bucks and 12 names were randomly drawn for "Dunkin with Delozier".

The winners got to enjoy coffee, sweet tea and doughnuts. “The conversation stemmed from how the students feel about school safety, juuling to questions about law enforcement” and an upcoming lip-sync battle at the high school, Cpl. Delozier said. Sgt. Todd Fleenor “also stopped by and engaged in the conversation as well. The students really enjoyed his addition to the morning activities,” Cpl. Delozier said.
