On-View Arrests, Warrants Served

On-View Arrests: 

Burglary: On May 11, 2021, Deputy Richard Wilhelmi responded to the 45300 block of Barefoot Drive in California for the report of a burglary. Arriving on the scene, Deputy Wilhelmi located Meghann Emily Abraham, 30 of California, in the area of the residence which is in the process of being sold. The basement door of the home was found open with Abraham's personal belongings inside. In addition, damage was observed to the home's windows where screens had been removed. Abraham was arrested, transported to the St. Mary's County Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown and charged with Fourth-Degree Burglary to a Dwelling and Malicious Destruction of Property less than $1,000. Violation of Protective Order: On May 12, 2021, DFC Shawn Shelko was informed of a possible violation of a protective order and initiated an investigation. DFC Shelko contacted the victim and determined that James Allen Michael Schaeffer, 38 of Union Bridge, sent numerous texts to the victim and attempted phone calls to the victim in violation of a court-ordered protective order. Schaeffer was charged with Violation of Protective Order. Case # 25409-21

Assault: On May 13, 2021, Cpl. Brian Connelly responded to the 17700 block of Whitestone Drive in Tall Timbers for a key fob panic alarm. Cpl. Connelly made contact with the victim who advised that Michael Peter Iminski, 33 of Tall Timbers, were in an argument which escalated into an assault. The victim advised that Iminski pulled the victim's shirt so forcefully that it ripped off the victim's body. Iminski then picked up a wooden paddle, reached over the top of the victim's head and placed the paddle against the victim's throat. Iminski began to squeeze the paddle handle against the victim's throat strangling the victim to the point of gasping for air. The victim opened a window in an attempt to get help when Iminski pushed the victim to the ground and again placed the paddle against the victim's throat. The victim attempted to use a phone to call for help when Iminski shattered the phone and threw it into a dog bowl full of water. Cpl. Connelly observed numerous signs of injury on the victim and the total value of household items damaged during the assault was $2,200. Iminski was arrested and charged with First-Degree Assault; Second-Degree Assault; Malicious Destruction of Property and False Imprisonment. Case # 25528-21

On May 11, 2021, Deputy Christopher Palmer arrested Edna Renee Lyles, 34 of Great Mills, on two warrants for Second-Degree Assault and Violation of Protective Order. Case # 25218-21
