The
St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the identity of the individual
pictured. On April 16, 2018, the suspect
entered the Hobby Lobby store located on Alton Lane, in California, and gave
the cashier a $100 bill to purchase a candy bar. While the cashier was conducting the
transaction the suspect then presented the cashier with change, and during the
encounter, the suspect was able to take back the $100, and ultimately left the
store with the $100 bill, as well as change for the $100. Shortly after this
incident, the suspect went to another business and used the same scam to steal
money.

“CRIMES” (274637). Through the Crime Solvers Program tipsters are eligible for
an award of up to $1,000 for information about a crime in St. Mary’s County
that leads to an arrest or indictment.
