On
November 6, 2016, the Nam Knights of
America, Skipjack Chapter donated a Preliminary Breath Test Instrument to the
St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office. The
Nam Knights is a group of retired military veterans, active and retired law
enforcement officers, who through generous contributions from its members and
various fundraisers, give back to veterans, law enforcement, and local community
charities through various donations.
Captain
Terry Black, Commander of the Patrol Division, was on hand to receive the
equipment donation from Chapter President, Ray Nieves, and other various
officers within the Nam Knights.
Captain
Black stated, “We are very appreciative of this important equipment donation as
it is a piece of equipment that practically gets used every day in the field by
deputies enforcing various alcohol related laws to include the operation of
motor vehicles while impaired or intoxicated and will certainly get used
frequently.”
The
men and women of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office thank the Nam Knights
for their consideration for donating this piece of equipment to the
agency.
