Arrests 5/17

5-2-2016 – Possession – Deputy D. Mcclure made contact with a vehicle in Lancaster Park, after receiving an anonymous tip about suspected drug activity. Further investigation revealed one of the occupants of the vehicle, Dayshawn Martel Nolan, age 23, of Hollywood, had an active warrant for his arrest. During a search of Nolan’s vehicle, Deputy McClure located a handgun, a quantity of suspected heroin, and a quantity of suspected cocaine. Nolan was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged with Possession – Not Marijuana (Cocaine), Possession – Not Marijuana (Heroin), Handgun in Vehicle, and Trespassing. 5-3-2016 – Theft – Deputy J. Kirkner responded to the Dollar General in Mechanicsville, for the report of shoplifters in custody. The suspects, Jennifer Marie Moy, age 25, of Mechanicsville and Jessie Marie Jameson, age 25, of Lexington Park, attempted to conceal merchandise in a diaper bag and leave the store without paying. Moy and Jameson were transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged with Theft Under $100 and Issued Notices Not to Trespass. CASE# 23382-16

5-5-2016 – Assault – Deputy R. Roszell responded to the 40000 block of Leeland Road in Mechanicsville, for the report of a domestic assault in progress. The victim alleged the suspect, Ashley Rose Dean, age 28, of Mechanicsville, threw a key at the victim’s head. Rose then left the residence, came back and attempted to force entry into the residence by breaking several windows. During the incident, the victim states Rose scratched the victim several times on the neck and back. Rose was placed under arrest and placed in the back of the patrol car when she began to kick the rear passenger window causing damage. Rose also kicked and scratched officers on the scene, while           they secured her into the patrol car.  Rose was placed under arrest and charged with Three Counts of Second Degree Assault and Malicious Destruction of Property. 5-5-2016 – Theft – Deputy A. Manns responded to the Rite-Aid in Leonardtown, for the report a theft. The suspect, Kara Lynn Mattingly, age 47, of Lexington Park, attempted to steal merchandise by concealing it in her purse. Mattingly was arrested and charged with Theft Under $100. CASE# 23809-16

5-4-16 – Assault – Corporal D. Corcoran responded to the Housing Authority in Lexington Park after a victim entered the business alleging he was assaulted. The victim displayed visual signs of assault and claimed his cellular phone was stolen by the suspect. The suspect, Joseph Derrick Young, age 18, of Lexington Park, was located and placed under arrest. The suspect had a cell phone matching the victim’s description in his possession. Further investigation revealed, Young had an active warrant for his arrest. He was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged with Second Degree Assault, Theft Less Than $1000 and Hinder and Obstruction. CASE# 23669-16

5-6-2016 – Assault – Deputy T. Teague responded to the Super Eight Motel in California, for the report of a domestic assault. The victim alleged the suspect, Wayne Tyrome Estep, Jr, age 24, of No Fixed Address, punched the victim in the face during an argument and then attempted to strangle the victim. There were visible signs of injury and Estep was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center, where he was charged with Second Degree Assault. CASE# 24002-16

5-6-2016 – Assault – Deputy J. Smith responded to the 39000 block of Jacqueline Street in Mechanicsville, for the report of a disturbance. The victim alleged the suspect, Annette Arlene Carr, age 55, of Mechanicsville, threw a heavy object at the victim striking the victim in the chest. While speaking to the victim, Carr threatened the victim in front of the deputy and subsequently was placed under arrest. She was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged with Second Degree Assault. CASE# 24005-16

5-6-2016 – Assault – Deputy B. Foor responded to the 18000 block of St. Jerome’s Neck Road in Dameron, for the report of an assault. The victim alleged the suspect, Mandy Lee Dean, age 35, of Dameron, punched the victim in the face during an argument. Dean was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where she was charged with Second Degree Assault. CASE# 24001-16

5-5-2016 – Possession – While conducting a  vehicle stop for speeding, Deputy V. Pontorno, and Sgt. C. Safford, made contact with the suspect, Jacob Synon Powell, age 33, of Lexington Park, who initially provided a false name. Further investigation revealed, Powell’s privilege to drive in Maryland had been revoked, and a K-9 scan of his vehicle was completed. During the scan, suspected cocaine and paraphernalia were located in his motor vehicle. Powell was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was charged with Make False Statement to Peace Officer and Possession of CDS – Not Marijuana (Cocaine).
