Sex Offender Checks Conducted on Halloween

On October 31, 2014, detectives with the St. Mary's County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Compliance Unit, Criminal Investigations Division Support Team, in conjunction with Agents from the Maryland Department of Parole and Probation will be conducting Sex Offender compliance checks at the residences of registered sex offenders throughout St. Mary’s County.

Detectives and agents will be deployed from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM ensuring compliance with sex offender laws and regulations as well as special rules such as “No Candy” signs or “Halloween Decorations” are permitted at the residences of sex offenders.  Sex offenders who are on parole or probation are required to place signs in a conspicuous manner outside their homes and may not have any Halloween decorations on their residence beginning at 6:00 PM.
