Hollywood, Maryland - On May 3, 2014 deputies responded
to the McKay’s Foodland for the report of two suspects
passing counterfeit $100 bills while making purchases. The investigation was forwarded to the
Criminal Investigations Division.
Detectives
were able to determine two suspects entered the business and each presented the
clerk with counterfeit $100 bills appearing to be U.S. Currency to purchase
items valued at under $5.00. Detectives
identified the first suspect as Steven Eric Johnson, age 26, of Brandywine,
Maryland, and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
On June 11, 2014, Johnson was arrested in Washington D.C. and extradited
back to St. Mary’s County where he was charged with Manufacture Counterfeit
Currency, Making image of Counterfeit Currency, Possession of /Issue Forged
Currency and Theft under $100. Johnson
was later released on personal recognizance by a District Court Commissioner.

A
warrant has been issued for the second suspect, Jasonn Deville Henderson-Ware,
age 24, of Seat Pleasant, Maryland, relating to the same incident. Henderson-Ware has not been located and a
warrant for his arrest is still outstanding.
