Stabbing Suspect Arrested - Thomas

UPDATE 2-5-15: Suspect JOSEPH DESALES THOMAS has been apprehended. Thomas was located and arrested on 2-4-15 at 10:32 PM, by Deputy J. Smith. He was served with an arrest warrant charging him with 2 COUNTS 1st Degree Assault, 2 COUNTS 2nd Degree Assault, Possession Paraphernalia, and Possession Controlled Dangerous Substance: Not Marijuana.

ORIGINAL PRESS RELEASE 2-3-15:
On February 3, 2015 at 11:16 PM, Sheriff’s Office patrol units responded to the area of 22000 block of Baja Lane, Great Mills, Md. for the report of a stabbing.  Upon arrival deputies discovered two adult male victims had been stabbed during an altercation involving a third person.  One victim was flown to Prince George’s Hospital Shock Trauma Center for precautionary measures with a stab wound to his upper body.  The second victim was transported to Medstar St. Mary’s Hospital with minor stab wounds on various parts of his body.  Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division were contacted, responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.

During the investigation detectives were able to identify a suspect in the stabbings and a temporary felony warrant has been issued for Joseph Desales Thomas, age 51, of Great Mills, Md.  Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Thomas to contact Detective Cory Ellis at 301-475-4200 ext. 9125 or Crime Solvers at 301-475-3333.  Tipsters can also text their tips in to “TIP239” plus your message to “CRIMES” (274637).  Callers and tipsters do not have to leave a name, just the information.  If the information leads to an arrest and conviction, the caller/tipster may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
