On December 5, 2017, Sheriff Tim
Cameron, and the Sheriff’s Office Chaplain Corps, hosted a Church Safety Summit
for representatives of our faith based community. The summit took place at
Trinity Episcopal Church located at 47477 Trinity Church Road, in St. Mary’s
City.
Representatives of all churches,
synagogues, mosques, and other places of worship were invited by the Sheriff’s
Office to attend this summit. Some topics
discussed at the summit included Preparedness and Prevention, Indicators of
Potential Violence, Safety Plans, and Forming and Implementing Security Teams.
The Sheriff’s Office wants to
thank Father John Ball, of Trinity Episcopal Church, for opening his church and
allowing us to host the Safety Summit, and all of the representatives who
attended. The Sheriff’s Office is
grateful to have this opportunity to work with our faith based community to
ensure all have a safe and secure place to worship.
