1-6-2017 – Possession – Deputy First Class R. Steinbach responded to Millison Plaza on Shangri-La Drive in Lexington Park for a call for service. The subject, Patrick Darnell Day, age 55 of Lexington Park, contacted the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office to report he had been a victim of an unrelated incident. During the investigation, it was discovered Day was wanted on an open bench warrant. While being placed under arrest, deputies discovered he was in possession of suspected cocaine. He was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged with CDS Possession – Not Marijuana and served his bench warrant for failure to appear. CASE# 1127-17

1-17-2017 – Assault – Deputy First Class J. Stone responded to the 47000 block of Greenleaf Road in Lexington Park for the report of a domestic disturbance. The victim alleged the suspect, Katwinis Shariko Faxon, age 31, of Lexington Park, scratched the victim with her fingernails and then obtained a sword and chased the victim through the hallway and down the steps. She then proceeded to the throw the sword at the victim causing the sword to land at the bottom of the step. The victim displayed visible injuries. Faxon was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where she was charged with First Degree Assault and Second Degree Assault. CASE# 1226-17

1-8-2017 – Assault – Deputy S. Kerby responded to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center for the report of a disturbance. The suspect, James Nicholas Trossbach, age 21, of Leonardtown, ripped a fan off the wall and broke the knobs causing the fan to become non-operational. After the fan had been placed on the ground, a Correctional Officer attempted to move it backward, when Trossbach rushed forward and grabbed the Correctional Officer’s arm and the back of his neck. Trossbach was charged with Second Degree Assault and Malicious Destruction of Property Less than $1000.00. CASE# 1351-17

1-8-2017 – Assault – Deputy S. Kerby responded to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center for a reported disturbance. Inmate Antonio George Queen, age 23, of Park Hall, put salt and pepper packets down the back of the victim, Derrick Justin Connolly, age 30, of St. Inigoes, while he was seated at a table. Queen then ran and locked himself in Connolly’s cell causing Connolly to grab Queen around the neck to forcefully remove him from his cell. Queen was charged with Second Degree Assault and Connolly was charged with Second Degree Assault. CASE# 1336-17

1-5-2017 – Assault – Deputy L. Johnson responded to the 17000 block of Three Notch Road in Dameron for the report of an assault. The victim alleged the suspect, Jonathan Steven Hoyer, age 23, of Dameron, grabbed a kitchen knife and pushed it into the victim’s throat during an argument. Hoyer then fled the scene and was located a short time later on Three Notch Road. Hoyer was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention where he was charged with First Degree Assault and Second Degree Assault. CASE# 848-17

1-6-2017 – Assault – Deputy A. Schultz responded to the leasing office of the Abberly Crest Apartment Complex in Lexington Park for a call. Upon arrival, he made contact with the victim who alleged the suspect, Matthew George Eurek, age 31, of Lexington Park, slammed the victim on the bed and then proceeded to strike the victim several times with a closed fist. The victim displayed visible injuries. Eurek was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was charged with Second Degree Assault. CASE# 1013-17

1-3-2017 – Possession – While transporting a prisoner, Deputy D. Smith observed a vehicle driving erratically failing to drive within a single lane, running through a red light, and additional clues that led officers to suspect the driver was under the influence. The driver of the vehicle, Michael Emmanuel Beal, age 26, of Clinton, was stopped and after initially refusing, he was removed from the vehicle. Deputies located open containers of alcohol in the car. A standardized field sobriety test was performed which Beal completed unsatisfactorily. During the arrest, he kept falling asleep and had to be awoken by officers several times. He was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center, and search incident revealed suspected marijuana in his pocket. He was charged with Possession of Contraband in a Place of Confinement and issued multiple traffic citations, including Driving under the Influence. CASE# 558-17

1-9-2017 – Assault – Sergeant J. Yingling responded to the 24000 block of Morgan Road in Hollywood for a reported domestic disturbance. The victim alleged the suspect, Christina Lynn Rivas, age 43, of Hollywood, struck the victim in the face. An additional victim who tried to intervene in the disturbance was also struck. Rivas then retrieved a butter knife and approached the victim yelling threatening statements. The victims displayed visible injuries. Rivas was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where she was charged with Two Counts of Second Degree Assault. CASE# 1483-17

1-12-2017 – Possession – Sgt. K. Moritz observed a motor vehicle in the area of Route 235 and Pegg Road suspected of being involved in an armed robbery/home invasion investigation. A vehicle stop was performed, and a strong odor of suspected marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. One of the passengers, Machiavelli Tyzhae Savoy, age 18, of Lexington Park, was found to be in possession of two firearms, one of which the serial number was not readable. Savoy was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. Upon reaching the detention center, the deputy found suspected cocaine on the floorboard where Savoy was sitting. He was charged with CDS Possession – Not Marijuana, Two Counts of Possession of a Firearm/Minor, Alter Firearm ID Number, Two Counts of Handgun on Person, and Two Counts of Handgun in Vehicle. 1-11-2017 – False Statement to Officer – Deputy A. Schultz responded to the Wawa located at Three Notch Road in California for a reported theft. The suspect, Melissa Jill Mirfield, age 29, of California, alleged her passenger stole cash from her purse while she was in the store. After watching the surveillance video, deputies questioned Mirfield about the inconsistencies in her story. Mirfield was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where she was charged with False Statement to Officer. CASE# 1895-17

1-13-2017 – Possession – Deputy First Class R. Steinbach responded to the intersection of Point Lookout Road and Indian Bridge Road for a reported assault. The victim alleged the suspect, Amanda Lynn Grumbine, age 33, of Lexington Park, approached the victim while the victim was sitting in a car and punched the victim several times in the face. An additional suspect produced a gun, pointed it at the victim, and then Grumbine and the other suspect fled the area. The suspects were located a short time later and detained. While in custody, the co-suspect attempted to flee on foot, while in cuffs. After locating the co-suspect, Sgt. Moritz reviewed his in-camera footage which revealed Grumbine, who remained at the scene alone, removed a purse from the passenger vehicle and threw the bag under a vehicle in the driveway where they were parked. The handbag was located, and a search revealed several smoking devices containing suspected crack cocaine and marijuana. She was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged with Second Degree Assault, CDS Possession – Paraphernalia, CDS Possession – Not Marijuana and Obstructing and Hindering.
