Monday, October 3, 2014, at 10:57 AM, the suspect exited the McKay's Foodland Store located at 40845 Merchants Lane with several food items without paying.

Sunday, October 12, 2014, between Noon and 2:00 PM, this suspect used a victim’s credit card to make unauthorized purchases at several businesses.

Sheriff's Office Providing Support in PA Abduction Investigation

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

In response to the volume of requests for information related to the abduction of Carlesha Briana Gaither which occurred on Sunday, November 2nd in Philadelphia, PA., the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Vice/Narcotics division has assumed a support role and will continue to do so as requested. 

All inquiries should be made to the Philadelphia Police Department at police.public_affair@phila.gov. 

There will be no further information or comments released by the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office related to this ongoing investigation.

Juvenile Arrested for Threat at Great Mills High School

Great Mills, Maryland - On November 5, 2014 at 9:30 AM, an unidentified male called the Emergency Communications Center 9 1 1 reporting a bomb was in Great Mills. Although, the caller did not specifically indicate Great Mills High School, school officials and law enforcement immediately activated the appropriate protocols and a modified lockdown of Great Mills High School was implemented.

Numerous Sheriff's Office deputies, assisted by the Department of the Navy K9 units, conducted a search of Great Mills High School. After a complete search was conducted, the school resumed normal activity at approximately 10:40 AM. No devices were found.   

Detectives assigned to the Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division responded to Spring Ridge Middle School where the call to 9 1 1 was believed to have originated. The investigation revealed an 8th grade, male student, age 13, of Lexington Park, reported the false threat. The juvenile was placed under arrest and charged by Corporal Malloy. He was charged with Disruption of School Activities and Threat of Arson and released to a relative pending contact with Juvenile Justice.

Lexington Park, Maryland - The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public's assistance with identifying the two persons of interest pictured below. 

Saturday, October 18, 2014, at 7:30 PM, both subjects were observed inside the McDonald’s Restaurant located in St. Mary’s Square at 21600 Great Mills Road just prior to a strong armed robbery, which occurred nearby.

Anyone with information about the identity of these two persons of interest or about this crime in general is asked to call Corporal Connelly at 301.475.4200 x 9043. Case #55740-14.

Vice Narcotics Arrest 11-4-14

Detectives indicted suspect Michelle Shevon Mobley (Age 23 of Lexington Park) for “Possession of Oxycodone with the Intent to Distribute” and “Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute” as a result of a search and seizure warrant executed on her home.
