Hit and Run Suspect-ID Needed

The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office is seeking the identity of the person pictured.  On March 30, 2018, the individual pictured was operating a red vehicle in the parking lot of the Wawa store, located on Three Notch Road, in California, when he struck another vehicle causing damage to that vehicle.  After striking the victim's vehicle, the suspect left the scene.

Gold Star Awarded

On April 5, 2018, the St. Mary's County Detention and Rehabilitation Center was awarded the Gold Star Award from the St. Mary's County Health Department. The Health Department presented the award as part of the Food Safety Program, which offers the Gold Star in recognition of superior compliance to food safety standards based on the outcome of routine inspections.  Congratulations to the Detention Center for achieving this award.

School Threat

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation into a social media message depicting an individual holding a gun, with a caption which included the letters "CHS", and made the threat of "going out with a bang". The message was screen shot, and shared numerous times. The Sheriff’s Office and the St. Mary’s County Public Schools conducted a joint investigation into the origin of this message and evaluated the threat. Investigation determined this was a previously investigated incident and that the post referenced Clovis High School, in New Mexico, and not Chopticon High School. The individual responsible for making the threat was arrested on April 5, 2018.

Jury Scam Update

UPDATE: The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office has become aware the perpetrators of this scam are now using the names of Sheriff’s Office employees in this scam, and are providing actual Sheriff’s Office extensions and phone numbers. Citizens are reminded to call the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office if you have been victimized by this scam.


The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is advising the public to be alert for a phone scam where the caller is posing as a sergeant with the Sheriff’s Office, and advising the targeted individuals they failed to report for jury duty, and now have active warrants for their arrest. The caller then advises the failure to appear warrant was issued by a judge, or the State’s Attorney for St. Mary’s County, and the individual must pay a fee to have the warrant withdrawn. The caller instructs the victim to obtain MoneyPaks from a local store; MoneyPaks are used to transfer funds to a prepaid card or a debit card. Once the individual has obtained the MoneyPaks they are instructed to contact a fraudulent bond company to pay the predetermined fee and have the warrant recalled. For the added appearance of legitimacy, the caller provides a number with a local area code, and a three digit prefix of numbers used locally, for the individual to contact. The number provided has an automated directory identifying as the St. Mary’s County Court Services Division. The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office wants to assure our citizens no legitimate law enforcement officer will call private citizens asking for MoneyPaks/money. The Sheriff’s Office also wants to remind citizens to never give out personal information to callers they do not know.

Assault-  On February 26, 2018, Dep. Ball responded to the 21000 block of Liberty Street, in Lexington Park, for a reported assault.  Upon arrival contact was made with the victim who advised Yahya Jebreel El-Ansari, age 22, with no fixed address, had lunged at the victim with a pair of scissors.  As a result, the victim sustained a small laceration to the hand.  El-Ansari was arrested and charged with Assault 1st Degree and Assault 2nd Degree.  CASE# 10427-18

Theft- On February 27, 2018, DFC. Tirpak responded to a reported theft in the 45000 block of First Colony Way, located in California.  Investigation determined Justin Darrell Biscoe, age 30, of Lexington Park, left the store premises without paying for various items.  Biscoe was located and charged with Theft via a Criminal Citation.  CASE# 10643-18

Drug Arrest/Attempt to Elude Uniform Officer- On February 27, 2018, Cpl. Stone attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 20000 block of Three Notch Road, in Park Hall.  The vehicle continued and accelerated, passed several vehicles, operated on the wrong side of the roadway, and ultimately the operator failed to negotiate a turn, and struck a telephone pole.  The operator of the vehicle was identified as George Dewayne Mulloy II, age 32, of Lexington Park. A suspected Oxycodne pill was found in the vehicle.  Mulloy was arrested and charged with Possession of CDS-Not Marijuana, Driving While Suspended, and Attempt to Elude Uniform Police by Failing to Stop.  CASE# 10658-18

Burglary Suspect-ID Needed

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the identity of the individual pictured.  On March 15, 2018, the pictured suspect concealed himself in the Charlotte Hall McKay’s store, located on Mohawk Drive, until the business closed. Once the business was vacant, the suspect forced entry into the pharmacy located inside the business and stole various pharmaceutical supplies, prescription medication, and cigarettes.

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the identity of the person pictured.  On February 26, 2018, at the Walmart located on Miramar Way, in California, the suspect stole the victim’s purse from her vehicle as she returned her shopping cart.  The suspect then utilized the victim’s debit card at the Wawa located on Three Notch Road, in California, to purchase various items including gift cards.
