The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office is seeking the identity of the persons pictured above.  During the timeframe of Friday, September 29, 2017 at 10 PM to Sunday, October 15, 2017, a burglary occurred to a home in the 27000 block of Queen Tree Road, in Mechanicsville. Among the items stolen in the burglary were numerous Lowe's Gift Cards. 

On Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at 2:30 PM, the pictured suspects used several of the stolen gift cards to make purchases at the Lowe's Store located in California, MD.  On Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at 8:37 PM, additional stolen Lowe's Gift Cards were again used at the Lowe's Store in California, MD.

Violation of Protective Order- On 11/07/17, DFC.  Steinbach responded to the 24000 block of Beck Road, in Hollywood, for a reported dispute.  After serving Suspect Shakia Yvonne Ashe, age 23, of Hollywood, with a Protective Order, Suspect Ashe then repeatedly yelled obscenities at the petitioner/victim.  Suspect Ashe was arrested and charged with Violation of Protective Order.  CASE# 58749-17

Burglary- On 11/07/17, Cpl. Kerby, was responding to a report of an in-progress burglary, when he passed the suspect vehicle that was reported to be involved, in the 28000 block of Flora Corner Road, in Mechanicsville. The vehicle was stopped and ultimately stolen property from the burglary was discovered in the vehicle, as well as heroin and CDS paraphernalia.  Arrested was Suspect Andrew Wyatt Washabaugh, age 30, of Mechanicsville, and Kevin Alex Kosack Jr., age 34 of Mechanicsville.  Washabaugh was charged with Burglary 3rd Degree and Theft.  Kosack Jr. was charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, Theft, CDS Possession-Not Marijuana-Heroin and CDS: Possession Paraphernalia.  CASE# 58728-17

Assault- On 11/09/17, Dep. J. Smith responded to the 27000 block of Yowaiski Mill Road, in Mechanicsville, for a report of an assault.  Upon arrival contact was made with the victim who displayed injury to the face and neck.  The victim advised Suspect Thomas James Daly, age 25, of Mechanicsville, had assaulted the victim by grabbing the victim's neck and closing a window on the victim.  Suspect Daly was arrested and charged with Assault 2nd Degree.  CASE# 59104-17

Sex Offense Arrest

In July 2017, the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding a possible sex offense involving an adult male and a fourteen year old female.  The investigation was continued by the Criminal Investigations Division (CID).

 

Investigation revealed Philip Charles Edwards  Jr., age 54, of Piney Point, met the juvenile during the summer of 2016. Through the course of their contact, Edwards propositioned the juvenile, and engaged in a sexual act with the juvenile against her will.

 

The facts of this investigation were presented to the Grand Jury for St. Mary’s County on November 1, 2017. As a result an arrest warrant was issued for Edwards charging him with the following criminal violations; Rape 2nd Degree, Sex Offense Third Degree, Sexual Solicitation of a Minor, and Assault Second Degree.

 

On November 10, 2017, Edwards was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center to await a bond review.

Assault 1st Degree Arrest

On November 7, 2017, Cpl. Carberry responded to the 22000 block of Lawrence Avenue in reference to a disturbance.  Upon arrival the victim was contacted and was observed to have sustained a laceration to their right arm.  Investigation revealed the victim had been stabbed by a known suspect; Shuree Sinese Weems, age 36, of Leonardtown.  Weems was arrested and charged with Assault 1^st Degree, Assault 2^nd Degree, and Resisting Arrest.
