Identity Needed for Strong-Arm Robbery Suspect

Aug. 18 update: The suspect has been identified. 

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the identity of the person pictured in a strong-arm robbery investigation. On Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019 at 3:55 am, the suspect asked for a carton of cigarettes at the Sheetz convenience store in Great Mills. The suspect attempted to take the carton of cigarettes from the cashier, but the cashier retained control of it. The suspect then tried to grab a pack of cigarette lighters, which the cashier retained. The suspect then grabbed a cellphone accessory display and threw it on the floor and fled the store with what appeared to be charging cables. The cashier reported an injury to a hand during the encounter.

Identity Needed for Theft Suspect

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the identity of the person pictured in a theft investigation. On Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 12:34 pm, the suspect was with three others at the California Walmart store using the self-checkout register and did not scan or pay for all of the items in their cart. The suspect fled upon passing the last point of sale when the others were stopped by the store’s loss prevention staff.

Drug Arrest- On July 20, 2020, Cpl. Labanowski responded to the St. Mary's County Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown, for the individual arrested on an outstanding warrant with CDS located on their person. Investigation determined Lena Michelle King, age 27 of Leonardtown, had secreted numerous capsules containing suspected heroin and fentanyl on her person at the time of her initial arrest. The suspected CDS was recovered and King was charged with two counts of CDS: Possession- Not Marijuana and Possession of Contraband in Place of Confinement. CASE# 38256-20

Drug Arrest- On July 20, 2020, Dep. Palmer responded to the St. Mary's County Detention and Rehabilitation Center located in Leonardtown, for the reported located contraband. Investigation determined a correctional officer observed two plastic baggies containing a white powdery substance, (suspected cocaine) fall from the belongings of Crystal Dawn Balch, age 35 of North Carolina. Assault- On July 25, 2020, Dep. Edwards responded to the 21600 block of Great Mills Road in Lexington Park, for the reported assault. Investigation determined David Andrew Spears, age 31 of no fixed address, punched and kicked the victim repeatedly, causing numerous injuries to the victim. Concealed Weapon- On July 26, 2020, Dep. Haas responded to the 26200 block of Tin Top School Road in Mechanicsville, for the reported disturbance/loud party. Dep. Haas observed an active disturbance at the scene and made contact with Logan Garrett Blado, age 20 of Mechanicsville. Blado refused to leave the scene and was placed under arrest for trespassing.  Metal (brass) knuckles were located in Blado's pocket at the time of his arrest. Assault- On July 26, 2020, Dep, Burgess responded to the 23500 block of Mervell Dean Road in Hollywood, for the reported disturbance. Investigation determined Tavares Antonio Thompson, age 26 of Hollywood, assaulted the victim by strangling the victim during an argument, causing visible injury to the victim. Assault- On July 27, 2020, Cpl. Beishline responded to the 45800 block of Langley Park Way in Great Mills, for the reported disturbance. Investigation determined Ryan Michael Dale, age 27 of Great Mills, assaulted the victim by punching the victim repeatedly and strangling the victim to the point of unconsciousness.
