Burglary to Motor Vehicle/Property Destruction- On 09/28/17, Deputy Beyer responded to the 25000 block of Three Notch Road Hollywood, for a report of two burglaries to motor vehicles. The investigation determined the alleged suspect Drew Thomas Aloise, age 24, of Hollywood entered two vehicles and stole and later destroyed property of two victims. Mr. Aloise was located and arrested on an outstanding child support warrant.  Mr. Aloise had some of the stolen property at his residence, and other stolen property had been burned. Mr. Aloise was charged with Burglary to Motor Vehicle, Theft, Property Destruction, and Malicious Burning. CASE # 51409-17 (No photo available)

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the identity of the persons occupying the vehicle pictured above. On Friday, August 25, 2017 between 1:40 PM and 2:20 PM, two suspects riding in the   2017 Jeep Renegade, stopped in a small parking lot in the 21600 block of Missouri Avenue, Lexington Park, Maryland. From there they invaded an occupied home in the 46800 block of Flower Avenue, entering through a rear door. Once inside they had an encounter with a small child after which they fled in the Jeep. Anyone with information about the identity of the suspects and/or about this incident is asked to contact  Dfc. It Means Everything

Twelve years ago, 40 year old Janet Reginato, was the night manager of the Lone Star Steakhouse and Saloon in Lexington Park. While Janet was closing the restaurant, two men, one of whom was an employee of the same restaurant, entered the building to commit a robbery. During the robbery, Janet was shot and killed by 21 year old Richard Moore and a 15 year old male. The murder, left Nicholas Reginato, then a 16 year old boy, without a mother and devastated.  

Nicholas, (Nick), recently sent an email to Captain Steve Hall who was a detective supervisor at the time of the murder and investigated the case along with, (then), Detective Corporal Chip Koch of the Maryland State Police. Both were members of the Bureau of Criminal Investigations in 2005. Nick graciously thanked Captain Hall for the profound impact he had on him. Nick and Captain Hall were happy to allow us to share their email exchange with the citizens we serve.

“I want to start by saying thank you. I am not sure if you remember me, but you worked my mom’s case. It’s been a long time, but I still bring you and Detective Cook [Koch] up a lot in conversation; hence why I am sending you this email. I am sure you guys don’t get a lot of good news, so I have some for you. I am married to an amazing woman, whom my mom always loved. I have two amazing kids ages two and four. You helped me so much that day and subsequently afterward; I got my life together after all the stuff that happened. I graduated high school and then trade school and worked as a mechanic for a number of years. Now I teach people with disabilities how to work in the automotive field. I digress, but I wrote this email mostly to thank you for helping a 16-year-old kid after his whole life was stripped away from him.” –Nick Reginato.

Violation of Protective Order – On 9-26-17 Corporal P. Handy responded to the 41000 block of Shadrick Street in Leonardtown for a reported disturbance. The victim alleged Nichole Corine Underwood, age 26, of Leonardtown was at the residence in violation of an active protective order. Underwood was placed under arrest and   transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. She was charged with violation of a protective order. CASE #51118-17

False Report – On 9-26-17 DFC A. Schultz responded to the Canopy Liquors for a reported fraud. The complainant alleged he found several fraudulent charges made to his bank account. He accused an associate of the fraud. After conducting the investigation, DFC Schultz determined the complainant had actually made the charges. The complainant, Patrick Allen Clarke, age 51, of Lexington Park, was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was charged with False Report. CASE #51103-17

Shotgun Possession by Felon – On 9-26-17 Deputy A. Budd responded to a residence located in the 17000 block of Piney Point road in Piney Point to attempt service of a protective order. He made contact with suspect Ryan Marshall Edwards, age 29, of Piney Point who was the respondent in the order. Edwards indicated he was in possession of a shotgun and ammunition. Deputy Budd determined Edwards was a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing the shotgun and ammunition. Edwards was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was charged with the violation. CASE #51179-17

Burglary – On 9-26-17 Corporal D. Corcoran responded to the 22000 block of Three Notch Road in Lexington Park for a reported trespassing. The victim alleged suspect Rosanne Elizabeth Nial forced her way into the residence causing damage to the door. Nial was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County detention Center. She was charged with Fourth Degree Burglary and Property Destruction. CASE #51139-17

Slow Moving Vehicle Signage - REMINDER

Leonardtown Maryland - The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office has received complaints regarding
improper use/display of SLOW MOVING VEHICLE signs. In accordance with the Maryland Transportation Code, (Title 21-805), the orange rectangular signs are to be displayed on slow moving farm vehicles ONLY. They are not permitted to be placed along roadways near driveways etcetera.

The proper use of the slow moving vehicle sign is very important to St. Mary's County's large farming community. It is an important safety concern for drivers to recognize the sign while properly affixed to a tractor or other farm implement. Display of these signs, anywhere other than on farm vehicles is not enforceable and a violation of the transportation code.

                This bike was recently recovered in Great Mills, and returned to the owner.


Leonardtown, Maryland - On 9-22-17 around 7:40 pm, unknown suspect(s) stole a red, white, and black Trek brand, Top Fuel model 9.9 men's mountain bike from the rack attached to a gray Jeep Wrangler. The Jeep was parked in the public parking located between The Front Porch restaurant and The Hair Company at the time of the theft.

The bike is valued at approximately $8,000.00.

Sheriff Tim Cameron Participated in Special Session of HSMP Meeting

California, Maryland - On September 21, 2017, Sheriff Tim Cameron and Captain Eric Sweeney attended a special session of the 2017 Healthy St. Mary's Partnership, (HSMP), annual meeting to discuss the Maryland Overdose Response Program at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center. Sheriff Cameron was a member of an all-star panel of speakers and community leaders; Dr. Meena Brewster, Dr. Kathleen O'Brien, and Superintendent J. Scott Smith. The session included presentations on efforts at the state and local levels in response to the growing epidemic. Attendees also learned how to recognize the signs and symptoms of opioid overdose, the importance of calling 9 1 1 in medical emergencies, and how to administer naloxone and provide care until help arrives.

Inmate Kara Kristine Casey, age 33, of Waldorf, assaulted another inmate by grabbing the inmate by the head. The victim sustained a laceration to the head. Burglary – On 9-13-17 deputies responded to the Rite Aid Pharmacy located in the 21000 block of North Shangri-La Drive in Lexington Park for multiple motion alarms. Upon arrival, Corporal T. Snyder located suspect Melvin Scott Rawlings, age 31, of no fixed address attempting to exit two sets of front doors. Once Rawlings was apprehended, Corporal Snyder determined he had tried to break into the pharmacy main door where medications are stored. Rawlings was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was charged with Second Degree Burglary, Fourth Degree Burglary – Storehouse, Fourth Degree Burglary – Theft, and Property Destruction. CASE #48564-17

Alter Drug Screen – On 9-13-17 Corporal J. Kirkner responded to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center in Leonardtown for a reported fraudulent urine specimen. A detention center employee collected a pre-trial urine sample from suspect Joshua Alexander Mason, age 33, of Clements. After noting something wrong with the sample, a plastic container was located in Mason’s clothing, which he used to transport a fraudulent urine sample into the facility. Assault – On 9-13-17 Corporal J. Kirkner responded to MedStar St. Mary’s hospital for a reported domestic assault which had occurred at a residence in Leonardtown. The victim alleged suspect Elizabeth Ashley Dunn, age 29, of Leonardtown, pushed the victim causing visible injury. Dunn was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. She was charged with Second Degree Assault. CASE #48552-17

Home Invasion/Burglary – On 9-14-17 Deputy T. Payne responded to the 43000 block of Drum Cliff Road in Hollywood for a reported assault. Two (2) victims alleged suspect Cynthia Taylor Dunn, age 59, of Prince Frederick, entered the residence through an unlocked basement door and confronted the victims in the kitchen. Dunn struck one of the victims in the face with her fist. Dunn was placed under arrest and charged with Home Invasion, Third Degree Burglary, and Second Degree Assault. CASE #48721-17

Violation Protective Order – On 9-15-17 Corporal K. Nelson responded to the St. Mary’s County Circuit Court House in Leonardtown. The victim alleged suspect Justin Ray King, age 35, of Hollywood, contacted the victim via social media and by phone call in violation of an active protective order. King was subsequently located inside the residence also in violation of the order. He was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is asking for your help in identifying the individuals and suspect pictured below.

 

The Chick-fil-A restaurant located at 45150 First Colony Way, California, Maryland was collecting donations in a large water jug to help the employees of a Texas Chick-fil-A damaged by Hurricane Harvey.

 

On Wednesday, September 6, 2017 between 5:36PM and 5:54PM, the pictured subjects were interacting together inside of the Chick-Fil-A located in California, Maryland. As 4 of the 5 subjects exited the business, the SUSPECT wearing, what appears to be a stripped hooded sweatshirt and glasses, grabbed the donation jar and fled the business. The subjects were last seen leaving the parking lot; one of the vehicles being a light colored SUV possibly a Toyota Rav 4.

9-22-17 Assist Other Agency/Theft of Motor Vehicle – Corporal D. Snyder assisted the Charles County Sheriff’s Office with a motor vehicle hit and run crash investigation. The vehicle involved in the crash was subsequently reported stolen from a business located in the 30000 block of Potomac Way in Charlotte Hall. CASE #50256-17

9-23-17 Vehicle Crash/Fly-Out – Shara Joy Oneil, age 20, of Lexington Park, was traveling west on Pegg Road in Lexington Park when the vehicle crossed the center line and struck a guardrail. The vehicle, a 2003 Chrysler, then turned over and came to rest on the roof. Oneil was flown to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. CASE #50342-17

Assault – On 8-22-17 Deputy Jason Smith responded to the 4100 block of Courthouse Drive in Leonardtown for a reported domestic assault. The victim alleged suspect Geoffrey Lamont Stone Jr., age 29, of Waldorf, struck the victim in the head with his fist. Deputy Smith observed visible sign of injury. Stone was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was charged with Second Degree Assault. CASE #44463-17

Drug Arrest – On 6-9-17 an inmate at the St. Mary’s County Detention Center was found unresponsive and transported to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment. The investigation determined the inmate had overdosed on suspected fentanyl which had been brought into the facility by another inmate identified as Saeed Akhil Handon, age 21, of California. The fentanyl was obtained by suspect Mary Frances Pressel, age 38, of Lexington Park, who then gave it to Handon. Handon then gave the fentanyl to Pressel’s boyfriend, Andrew Allen Klock, age 31, of California, also an inmate at the detention center. Klock gave a portion of the fentanyl to the inmate who subsequently overdosed. The investigation was conducted by the Narcotics Division. CASE #30319-17

Assault - On 8-27-17 Deputy T. Siciliano responded to the 47000 block of South Hampton Drive in Lexington Park for a reported domestic assault. The victim alleged suspect James Edward Daniels, age 45, of Lexington Park, grabbed the victim by the hair and threw the victim to the floor and into a wall causing visible signs of injury. Indecent Exposure – On 8-26-17 Deputy J. Bush responded to the 46000 block of Chapman Drive in Lexington Park. The victim alleged suspect Rodolfo Palacios Ramirez, age 52, of Lexington Park, knocked on the victim’s door. The victim answered the door and went outside to find Ramirez exposing his genitalia in public. Ramirez was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. The victim alleged suspect Marc Ryan Gill, age 37, of Mechanicsville, was located inside the home in violation of an active protective order. Violation of Protective Order – On 8-26-17 Deputy M. Beyer responded to the 21000 block of Ritz Drive in Lexington Park for a reported violation of a protective order. The victim alleged suspect Ashley Lee Roberts, age 20, of Lexington Park, was on the property in violation of an active protective order. Roberts was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. She was charged with Violation of a Protective Order. CASE #45156-17

Disorderly Conduct – On 8-26-17 Deputy D. McClure responded to the 21000 block of Brighton Avenue in Lexington Park for a disturbance. Deputy McClure located suspect Demetrius Roy Dyson, age 27, of Lexington Park, in the roadway yelling at another subject. Dyson refused all orders to stop and was placed under arrest. He was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged with Disorderly Conduct. CASE #45087-17

Assault – On 8-29-17 Corporal Carberry responded to a residence in the 22000 block of Colton Street in Leonardtown for a reported disturbance. The victim alleged suspect Sean Marino Goins, age 36, of Leonardtown, grabbed the victim by the neck and hit the victim’s head into a table. Goins was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was charged with Second Degree Assault. CASE #45580-17

Disorderly Conduct – On 9-19-17 DFC A. Beishline responded to the area of St. Lo Place in Lexington Park for a disturbance. Suspect Brandon Clarence-Anthony Spiller, age 24, of Lusby, was cursing at neighbors and making threats. After several attempts to get Spiller to leave the area, Spiller was placed under arrest. Spiller was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged with Disorderly Conduct and Fail to Obey Lawful Order. CASE #49688-17
