March 22 deadline for written and agility testing applicants




The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is seeking qualified men and women to join our ranks of deputies, corrections officers and cadets. The next round of physical agility and written testing is scheduled in April. Applicants must complete and return a Personal History Statement by, Friday, March 22, 2019.

The application process is outlined at https://www.firstsheriff.com/applicationprocess.asp. The Personal History Statement (PHS) must be completed, printed and each page initialed at the bottom. At the end of the PHS ensure to have the Authorization for Release of Personal Information Form # 206 notarized. The entire Personal History Statement must be received by March 22, 2019 for applicants to participate in the testing in April.

The Personal History Statement along with the notarized Authorization for Release of Personal Information Form # 206 can be delivered in person to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Headquarters at 23150 Leonard Hall Drive in Leonardtown or mailed to:

Applicants must pass the preliminary screening conditions to advance to the agility testing.
