Criminal Summons: 

07/28/17-Possession of CDS Not Marijuana- Charles Edward Summers, age 34, of California was charged via a criminal summons by Deputy G. Muschette for Possession of CDS Not Marijuana. 

07/28/17-Burglary 4th Degree-Kyle Steven Bryant, age 19, of Charlotte Hall, was charged via  Criminal Summons by Lieutenant Stephen Simonds for Burglary 4th Degree. 

07/28/17-Assault 2nd Degree-Lester Marvel Scriber, age 44, of Valley Lee was charged via a criminal summons by Deputy M. Beyer for Assault 2nd Degree. 

07/24/17-Theft Less than $100-Markus Anthonio Carter, age 20, of Lexington Park was charged via criminal summons by Deputy T. Siciliano for  Theft Less than $100

On-View Arrests:

07/30/17 – Assault – Corporal J. Yingling responded to the 40000 block of King Drive in Mechanicsville for  a reported assault.  The investigation revealed the suspect, Paul Richard Stewart, age 62, of  Mechanicsville assaulted the victim leaving visible signs of injury.  The suspect was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center where he was charged with Assault 2nd Degree.  CASE # 40127-17

08/01/17 – Assault –  Deputy S. Shelko responded to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center for a reported assault on a corrections officer. The investigation revealed the suspect, Joseph Martin Swann, age 36, of Waldorf, assaulted a corrections officer by shoving and then actively resisting being detained. The suspect was charged with Assault 2nd Degree DOC Emp. CASE #40391-17

07/31/17 – Burglary – Deputy First Class S. Tirpak responded to the 17000 block of Three Notch Road in Dameron for a reported burglary in progress. The investigation revealed the suspect, Jonathan Stephen Hoyer, age 24, of no fixed address, broke into the victim’s residence several times, stealing the property of the victim, as well as causing damage to the victim’s property.  The suspect was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center where he was charged with three counts of Burglary 4th Degree, Theft Less than $100 and Malicious Destruction of Property, Value less than $1000.  CASE# 40294-17

08/01/17 – Assault on a DOC Inmate – Corporal J. Davis responded to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center for a reported inmate on inmate assault.  The investigation revealed, Adam Thomas Wilkins, age 21, of  Lexington Park, assaulted another inmate.   He was charged with Assault 2nd Degree DOC.

07/31/17 – Theft Less than $1000 – Deputy First Class R. Steinbach responded to the Kohl’s Department Store for the report of shoplifting in progress. The investigation revealed the suspect, Kayla Marie Preddy, age 21, of  Mechanicsville, stole a bag full of merchandise. She was issued a Criminal Citation for Theft Less than $1000.00.

07/22/17-John Edward Butler, Jr., age 41 of Mechanicsville, was charged via Criminal Summons for Assault 2nd Degree by Corporal P. Handy.

08/01/17-Jerome Anthony Hicks, age 48, of Loveville, was charged via Criminal Summons for Assault 2nd Degree, Destruction of Property and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle by Corporal P. Handy

08/01/17-David Logan Scopin, age 31, of Waldorf, was charged via Criminal Summons for Malicious Destruction of Property and Theft Less than $100 by Corporal J. Davis.

08/01/17-James Allan Winters, age 37 of Great Mills, was charged via Criminal Summons two charges of Assault 2nd Degree by Corporal D. Corcoran.

08/01/17-Byron Lee Bowling, age 40 of Mechanicsville, was charged via Criminal Summons two counts of Theft Less than $100, One count theft Scheme Less $1000 by Corporal D. Snyder.

07/31/17-Daniel Holley Dement, age 50, of Lexington Park, was charged via Criminal Summons for theft Less Than $1000 by Deputy A. Budd.

07/31/17-Maurice Delonte Stoney, age 52, of Leonardtown, was charged via Criminal Summons for Theft Less Than $1000, Theft Less than $100 by Deputy First Class R. Steinbach.

On-View Arrests:

08/03/17 – Assault –Deputy M. Beyer responded to the 45000 block of Great Mills Court for a reported disturbance. The investigation revealed the suspect, Reginald Leon Brown, Jr., age 25, of Lexington Park, assaulted the victim leaving visible signs of injury.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and Rehabilitation Center where he was charged with Assault 2nd Degrees.  CASE # 40774-17

08/02/17-Shauna Nicole Doherty, age 18 of Lexington Park, was charged via Criminal Summons for Theft Under $500, Malicious Destruction of Property Less Than $1000 by Corporal J. Kirkner.

08/02/17-Kevin McGlaughlin Casey, age 21 of Great Mills, was charged via Criminal Summons for Malicious Destruction of Property Less than $1000  Corporal. D Reppel.

08/02/17- Mark Andrew Alvey, age 25 of Lexington Park, was charged via Criminal Summons for Assault 2nd Degree by Deputy J. Bare.

Juvenile Arrests:

07/31/17:  A 17-year-old male juvenile of Mechanicsville was arrested for Possession of CDS Not Marijuana and was also charged with possession of CDS Marijuana L/T 10 Grams on a Civil Citation.  The juvenile was arrested and charged by Corporal S. Kerby.  CASE # 40252-17.

07/27/17:  A 15-year-old male juvenile of Dameron was arrested and charged with Assault 2nd Degree.  The juvenile was arrested and charged by Deputy P. Henry.  CASE #39617-17

08/08/17 A 14-year-old male of Lexington Park was arrested and charged with Destruction of Property.  The juvenile was arrested and charged by Deputy G. Muschette.  CASE #33384-17

08/08/17:  A 13-year-old female of Lexington Park was arrested and charged with Destruction of Property.  The juvenile was arrested and charged by Deputy G. Muschette.  CASE #33384-17

On-View Arrests:

08/06/17 – Sex Offender Registry Fail to Notify – On July 12, 2017, the suspect James P. Payne, age 33, of Leonardtown, reported to Corporal M. Hulse that he was homeless.   On August 6, 2017,  Corporal Teague responded to the 44000 block of Deerfield Road for an investigation.  Upon arrival, Teague observed the defendant in the residence and the investigation confirmed Payne was living at that residence. He was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center, where he was charged with Sex Offender Regist. Fail – Notify/Include.  CASE # 41505-14





08/09/17 – Assault –  Deputy D. Smith responded to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center for a reported Assault on a corrections officer. The investigation revealed the suspect, James Stephon Hoover-Freeland, age 24, of Waldorf, had assaulted a corrections officer by biting, causing visible signs of injury to the officer, requiring medical attention.  The suspect was charged with Assault 2nd Degree, as well as Assault 2nd Degree DOC Emp.  CASE #42017-17

07/27/17-John Edward Nichols, age 49, of Mechanicsville, was charged via Criminal Summons for Assault 2nd Degree Deputy S. Shelko.

08/08/17- John Edward Nichols, Jr., age 27, of Mechanicsville, was charged via Criminal Summons for Assault 2nd Degree by Deputy S. Shelko.

08/08/17-Alexa Taylor Smith, age 21, of Leonardtown, was charged via Criminal Summons for Theft Scheme $1,000-10,000, Theft $1000-Under $10,000 by Cpl. K. Nelson.

8/08/17-Creighton Shields Perkins, age 34, of Lexington Park, was charged via Criminal Summons for Assault 1st Degree, and Assault 2nd Degree by Cpl. K. Nelson.

On-View Arrests:

08/03/17 – Alter Drug Alcohol Test –  Deputy C. Edwards responded to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center for a reported Altering of a Drug Alcohol Test.  The suspect, Shawn Michael Clark, age 35, of Mechanicsville, attempted to submit another fluid besides his urine during a test.  He was charged with Alter Drug/Alcohol Test.  CASE # 40848-17

Philip Ford
08/03/17 – Possession – Deputies from the Lexington Park Cops Unit witnessed the suspect, Philip Jerome Ford, age 60, of no fixed address and Tyeisha Lakia Mackall, age 27, smoking from what appeared to be a CDS Smoking device. Upon being approached by uniformed officers, Mackall passed the smoking device to Ford, who tossed it behind him.  Deputy First Class V. Pontorno approached Mackall and gave commands for him to stop reaching behind him. Mackall did not comply and Ford then hit Pontorno in the chest.  The suspects were taken into custody and A K9 search of the area revealed a suspected CDS Smoking device.  A further search of Mackall revealed another suspected CDS Smoking Device. Ford was charged with Assault 2nd Degree, CDS Possession of Paraphernalia, CDS Possession Not Marijuana.  Mackall was charged with CDS Possession of Paraphernalia, CDS Possession not Marijuana.  CASE #40944-17

08/08/17 – Malicious Destruction of Property – Deputy B. Fennessey responded to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center for a reported attempted escape.  The investigation revealed the suspect, inmate, Jeffrey Ronald Kindle, age 36, of Leonardtown, attempted to escape the Detention Center by removing drywall and metal inside of a bathroom.  The suspect was charged with Escape 1st and 2nd Degree, Malicious Destruction of Property $1000 Plus, Malicious Destruction of Property Less than $1000.     CASE #41727-17
