Maryland Sex Offender Registry -- Failure to Notify

On October 22, 2015, members of the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office Sex Offender Unit executed a search and seizure warrant for a residence located on Hillside Drive in Lexington Park, Maryland.

Located in the residence was James David Moore Sr., a Tier III lifetime registered sex offender.  The investigation revealed Moore had been staying at that residence for a prolonged period of time without notifying the Maryland Sex Offender Registry, which is required by statute.  Moore was taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged with failing to notify the Maryland Sex Offender Registry of an address where he habitually resides. Moore was held without bond pending a hearing before a District Court Judge.
