Detectives Make Arrest in Sex Offense

Leonardtown, Maryland - On October 4, 2014, the victim was under the care and custody of a family friend identified as suspect Thomas Eric Johnson, 29, of Leonardtown. While the victim was sleeping, Johnson allegedly sexually assaulted the victim. The victim was able get up and go into the bathroom and lock the door. The victim then climbed out of the bathroom window and walked nearly 2 miles to a family member's home. The victim immediately reported what had happened and called police. Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division subsequently assumed the investigation. 

On December 9, 2014, Johnson was charged by arrest warrant with 4th Degree Sexual Offense, and 2nd Degree Assault. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center awaiting an appearance before the Court.
