BOOK SIGNING - ST. MARY’S COUNTY SHERIFFS - 375 YEARS

Sheriff Tim Cameron is proud to announce the release of the new book
ST. MARY’S COUNTY SHERIFFS - 375 YEARS.

The National Sheriff`s Association has acknowledged that “the St. Mary`s County Sheriff`s office is the longest continuously operating Sheriff`s Office in the United States established in 1637.” St. Mary`s County Sheriffs- 375 Years records the Sheriffs through the history of Maryland`s “mother county.”  Through empirical research, historical data, and Sheriff`s Commissions, the writing team of Cindy Allen, Grace Mary Brady, Linda Reno, Carol Moody, Tyler Mattingly, assisted by Sgt. Jeffrey L. McLane (ret.) and Mrs. Mary Ann Thompson has identified every St. Mary`s County Sheriff.

State Archivist Edward C. Papenfuse notes, “...we have reviewed all of the careful biographical research that you conducted... which documents an unbroken line of service to St. Mary’s County, the mother county of Maryland, back to the first appointment in 1637. It reaches an exceptionally high standard of documentation in which we all can take pride.”

The public is invited to attend the book signing at Ye Olde Towne Cafe, located at 22685 Washington Street in Leonardtown. This event will be held Friday, September 5, 2014 from 6 - 7:30 pm.

This is your opportunity to meet the authors, contributors and researchers of this book. The book will be available for purchase at $15 per copy.
